Top 3 Emerging Keywords of the Week 🔥
OpenAI drops a new name, Elon gets dragged into the domain drama, and Trump gives AI a rebrand. Domain registrants apparently didn’t need much time to react. 👀
🥇 dots (281 ⇢ 407)
OpenAI unveiled its new AI assistants, “Dots,” and the internet quickly noticed that Dot.com points to Elon Musk’s Grok Bot. One missing “s,” a very different destination. The launch buzz likely helped send this week’s #1 keyword climbing.
🥈 superintelligence (456 ⇢ 575)
Trump wants AI called “Super Intelligence,” and signed an executive order making it the terminology for the executive branch. A presidential rebrand is quite a publicity boost. Domain registrants seem to have taken notice.
🥉 si (356 ⇢ 471)
Naturally, the shorter version joined the party. Trump’s AI-to-SI switch likely helped fuel interest in these two letters too. Why register 17 letters when two will do? 😉
We’ve watched this pattern at dotDB for years: a headline lands, a keyword catches fire, and domain registrations follow. The real test comes later: which names survive the hype?

I'll piggy-bag on Ken's post, since I've literally gone into the same niche as an experiment, driven by one of the domains I bought last week.
CursiveGenerator.com
I had the exact same thought process as @KenLin1985
High search volume 90k / month - Interestingly enough Cursive Generator actually has a really high US search volume.
Turns out that's because US states have been making Cursive writing mandatory in schools again.
Cursive is also popular choice for weddings and tattoos.
All of this helps to be little bit more to niche down.
The site can also focus on worksheets for teachers, inspiration for wedding cards and tattoo artists (and drive returning visits).
In less than a week I'm now seeing traffic (and about 30% of that comes from ChatGPT)
All of this was created in a span of 24 hrs or so - from buying the domain on Saturday, to launching the site on Sunday.
My quickest domain to a launched project so far.
Bought FancyTextGenerator.com and turned it into a fully functional website in less than 10 hours! 🚀
This is a classic example of domain-driven development. Here's how it happened.
I started by browsing domain marketplaces, looking for undervalued domains with real development potential.
FancyTextGenerator.com caught my attention, so I did some research:
🔍 1. Keyword demand
According to dotDB, there are 21 registered exact-match domains (EMDs) for "Fancy Text Generator".
Even more interesting, the keyword gets approximately 368,000 monthly searches.
Using dotDB's Keyword Insights, I found that the US and India account for the largest shares of search volume. Strong US search demand is always an encouraging signal, especially when considering monetization potential.
📊 2. Existing domain awareness
Next, I checked Google Ads Keyword Planner and discovered that "FancyTextGenerator.com" (including the .com extension) gets around 40 Google searches per month.
This is a metric I've used for years when hunting for domains with type-in traffic.
When people are already searching for a domain by its exact name, it suggests some existing awareness and potentially some direct navigation traffic. Some users may even type the domain directly into their browser, hoping to find exactly what they're looking for.
Domain parking isn't nearly as attractive as it once was, but this metric remains a useful signal when evaluating domains.
💻 3. From acquisition to launch
With all these signals looking promising, I pulled the trigger and bought the domain.
Then came the fun part: vibe coding!
Less than 10 hours later, FancyTextGenerator.com was live, with 100+ Unicode text styles, instant previews, one-click copying, and more.
From discovering an undervalued domain to launching a working product in a single day.
Now, let's see how far this little project can go! 🚀

A surprising trend popped up in this week’s dotDB data: the extension with the biggest registration growth is .makeup💄
👉 dotdb.com/statistics
It jumped by +40,520 domains and topped our “Most Increased Extensions” list this week.
One possible reason? Dynadot and Spaceship are currently running very aggressive promos for .makeup (under $2 per registration). That kind of pricing can easily trigger a registration wave.
Did you register any .makeup domains lately? Drop a comment and share what you picked up 👇

I invested $50,000 around January 2022 in US AI stocks, such as OpenDoor (AI Real Estate) and UpStart (AI Loans). As a result, in just a few short months, I watched them plummet to almost 1/10 of their market value. Then, I exited all positions at a loss. Unexpectedly, at the end of 2022, due to AI booming, these stocks started to stop falling and began to rise again... However, looking at it now, they still haven't returned to the value at the time I initially invested. Eventually, I decided to never touch stocks again, focusing solely on investing in domain names.

Revealing the secrets to finding great domains! 💡
(Niche market: general domain + .io or .co domain)
This method is versatile and becomes even more effective with 2-3 cross verifications. 🔄📈
• When registering a new .com (.com)
• When registering a new domain (.io, .co...)
• When registering a drop domain
• When purchasing someone else’s domain,
• When assessing domain value.
• When setting the selling price
Order of finding a good domain (c.g ProMix•io)
Actually, I will walk you through the process of registering ProMix•io.
(Hand-registered in June 2022)
Through cross-validation, you can predict the number of potential buyers.
🅰️ Finding and evaluating domains in dotDB (1st evaluation)
1⃣ Search for Beginning 'Pro" in dotDB and sort it.
2⃣ Find a domain with an empty .io in the domain list.
3⃣ Discover target ProMix (78 Extensions, 379 Promix+, io available)
4⃣ Double check Whois registration (registration possible)
5⃣ Check the Site Status option in dotDB as “Active” and search again (62 extension)
6⃣ Visit 62 extension sites in dotDB
7⃣ Check 5 or more Promix+ operating sites in dotDB (c.g PromixConcrete...)
If it passes, it moves on to the second evaluation for cross-validation.
🅱️ Evaluation through Google search (second evaluation)
1⃣ Search “ProMix” on Google web search. (2,400,000 results, various sites found)
(Note: Add " " when searching on Google)
2⃣ Search for “ProMix” logo in Google Image Search (see image)
3⃣ The more diverse logos the better (excluding product and person names)
4⃣ If most logos are the same, there is a possibility of trademark dispute (excluding registration)
🆙Evaluation results (registration decision)
Promix is a fairly good brand with 78 Extensions and 379 Promix+ in dotDB.
If you actually visit related domains, you will find many sites that are actually in operation.
In Google search results, the 'Promix' page was searched for as many as 2,400,000 pages.
There are many different logos (companies) in Google image search results.
In addition, the fact that there are not many identical logos and that they are used in various ways is considered to be somewhat safe in trademark disputes.
(In other words, 'Promix' means that there is no multinational company like Apple with a trademark)
Looking at dotDB and Google searches, there are many companies that use 'Promix'.
There is a possibility of receiving offers from these companies.
(If it is a .com, the chances of receiving offers from these companies are quite high)
It is expected that more companies will choose 'Promix' as their new company or product brand.
In particular, if the newly opened company is a blockchain-related company, it can be sold at a higher price.
With only two-step cross-validation, the domain has a large number of potential buyers and is highly likely to be sold.
Therefore, I decided to register this domain.
🔂Verification
This domain has been registered for 15 months and has received several offers.
💮When registering a domain, did you go through this complicated process?
Did you put in a lot of time, various tools, and effort to register your domain?
It's not that there aren't good domains.
This is because I don’t have the know-how to find a good domain.
Also, it's because you didn't make an effort.
🎯 If you pioneer your own way in this way, it will become your own niche.
From then on, multi-registration is possible.
