Comedian Carrot Top recently broke his month-long silence to share a positive message following his reported suicide attempt. The Las Vegas-based performer, whose real name is Scott Thompson, was hospitalized after a suicide attempt on Sept. 18, TMZ first reported. On Saturday, the comedian thanked his fans for the support he received during his recovery. “I’m truly overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, support, prayers, and well wishes I’ve received over the past couple of weeks,” Thompson wrote on social media. “Every message, text, and kind thought has meant more to me than you know.” Thompson also received public support from fellow comedians like Dane Cook, Brad Garrett and Jeff Ross following his health emergency.  Thompson canceled dozens of shows following his hospitalization. He is now planning his return to the stage. The comedian is scheduled to return to his residency at the Luxor Hotel & Casino on Sunday, he announced Saturday. “While I haven’t been able to respond to everyone individually, please know that I’ve felt your love and appreciate each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart,” Thompson wrote. “Thank you for being there for me during this time. Opinions about Category 10 in Las Vegas have already started. I have yet to visit Luke Combs Category 10 on the Vegas Strip, so I am just restating the early opinions I have heard. A strong set of opinions is the Sin City Category 10 of Luke Combs is already over priced. Many claim the alcohol drink prices of Category 10 are too high. The over priced cocktail and beer drinks talk about the new country restaurant and bar in the Flamingo while opinions, prices can easily be seen from the menu as people state. I will back in Las Vegas to personally visit Luke Combs Las Vegas Category 10 myself for Halloween weekend to check out drink prices along with everything else. Is the Las Vegas Strip really dead? Tourists driving to Vegas thought the rumors of Sin City being dead may be true based on YouTube videos they had seen. But travelers to the Strip have been finding out that some Las Vegas influencers that portrayed the blvd as almost abandoned were completely wrong and might have been exaggerating to gain YouTube views, likes and subscribers. Regular visitors like Las Vegas the Ken Way on X (Twitter) would have told you Las Vegas is far from dead and in fact, seems way to crowded at many times. Many Sin City hotels and casinos on the Las Vegas boulevard are booked up way in advance and are far from being dead. While many of the busiest Nevada MGM and Caesars properties have the best value, even the high priced luxury hotel / casinos still have business. Has Las Vegas been dead, ever ? Probably the unique situation of the COVID virus in Sin City did make The Strip as well as downtown, the closest times to having the streets abandoned. I believe the complaints about the current state of Las Vegas is not just that prices are high, it is the value is low. Somethings in Sin City are worth paying extra for and somethings are not. Words like premium, deluxe, etc. are used to describe something better than basic, like rooms in Las Vegas. We are expecting to pay some level more for those higher levels, but when basic rooms, food, drink, transportation, entertainment, etc. become overpriced… that is when it gets people’s attention and makes you not want to spend to be in Vegas. Area15 in Las Vegas is a magical kind of place. The original Area 15 building is a mall of entertainment, food and drink that was pretty amazing when it opened. This unique entertainment location off The Strip kept my attention as it populated with more of the types of activities I would think of for Vegas. Roll forward to today and Area15 is a multi-building complex with things to do and see even in between the buildings. For those artsy types, there is the Art Quest at Area15 that many will miss. While I do not go to art museums, the items on the art quest scattered around Area 15 are very cool.
