Excited to share this article published in @JACCJournals. Thankful to @keaglemd for the mentorship and opportunity. #prevention #diabetes #CardioTwitter
New @CircAHA study re a-p vs a-l lead placement for a fib cardioversion was quite interesting and will change my practice. Especially with more sinus rhythm in obese patients undergoing a-l dccv. #CardioTwitter #EPeeps #afib any thoughts?
Listening to @iBookCC podcast on tamponade this am. Favorite parts- feed your cardiologist a granola bar so they won’t be hangry when you consult them. Drainage is more important than compressions in cv arrest. When in doubt fluid out! #MedTwitter

This Thanksgiving, I am grateful for all of my @UMichCardiology co-fellows, especially this group who I get to be in the trenches with! 💪🏼

Lecture was canceled this am so I took a run while listening to the latest @JACCJournals review about exercise induced cardiac adaptations! Good way to start the day.
This was a great thread about the Samson trial. But the best part of the trial was the use of the word bespoke in the manuscript. #hipsters #CardioTwitter #statin
Great figure from this paper which highlights the various reasons HsTroponin can be elevated!

Trying to #runa2 with my pup this week! He has found a dead bird, a bag of kibble spilled all over the ground, and a full slice of deep dish. Any tips on how to keep him focused? #runningdog #dogsoftwitter #dogdad
Loved the reminder to turn down the oxygen! I’m a big fan of empowering medical students and residents to wean o2. (As long as they monitor and communicate with the bedside nurse!) podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas…
Loved this episode! Biochemistry, clinical applicability, debunking of myths with evidence and a clear call for improved implementation of ldl lowering therapies!

Really appreciated this vulnerable look at how righteous anger can lead to positive change.
The pieces that are hardest to write are the ones we must write.
The pieces we fear sharing are the ones we must share.
This is how my anger as a minoritized person kept me alive.
So honored to have worked with

Potentially practice changing study in @NEJM today. The original TTM trial made it less onerous to treat cardiac arrest survivors by making mild hypothermia the standard, and with TTM2, it is likely that preventing fever alone may be enough. #RCTsFTW

This was a very useful review of impellas. Especially table 2- case examples with some ideas about how to troubleshoot issues and figure 5 for similar reasons. Will be using in my next ccu block!
Mechanical circulatory support is commonly used in cardiogenic shock.
This #JACC review topic of the week comprehensively explores the use of short-term assist devices. Learn more here: bit.ly/3e36kEO #CardioTwitter

ALT Optimizing Management of the Percutaneous Ventricular Assist Device–Supported PatientThe most important aspects of patient management are represented as pieces of a puzzle that fit together to result in an optimal outcome during percutaneous ventricular assist device support. All of these items are discussed throughout this review, from initial patient selection and access site management to issues that arise during further intensive care treatment such as hemocompatibility, device positioning, and optimizing hemodynamics. Echo = vascular ultrasound; PCI = percutaneous coronary intervention; SIRS = systemic inflammatory response syndrome. Balthazar, T. et al. J Am Coll Cardiol. 2021;77(9);1243-56
