Flames are going to be bad this year, but not this bad. They are shooting less than 1.35% at ES and have a GF% of 7.14% at 5on5. Their goalies ES SV% is 81% so far, 6 points worse than their SH SV% last year.
This will pass.

The irony of FAN960 shutting down right now is that the Flames are poised to become much more interesting in a few years. If things break right, fan sentiment and interest are going to explode.
I was lucky enough to work with @Fan960Steinberg for years, and I am sure he'll land on his feet. Smart, dedicated, hard working. But that doesn't take the sting out of things.
This does open up opportunities for indie media like @FNBarnBurner @sdpnsports @FlamesNation and upstarts like @victoryplustv though. It will be interesting to see who can fill the void.
