Minimum wage to rise to $23.15, despite warning stuff.co.nz/business/3501655… Fantastic: the rich get richer with tax cuts paid for increasingly, in multiple ways, by those hugely not so well off. What a caring government this is!

50,000 willows planted along rivers odt.co.nz/regions/south-cant… They may provide flood protection but they can also choke rivers. I tried walking down the Twizel River a few weeks ago - it is being choked to death by willows and other species. What is ECan's long term approach?

BBC News - Who are the Republican candidates to be US House Speaker? bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-cana… Love this. 7 out of 9 clearly struggle to tell the truth - they did not support the vote to verify Joe Biden's election victory. And are there no women in the 200+ Republican camp?

Wow. The new PM has already made a difference!! stuff.co.nz/business/1331307… Yeah right! But yes, he will start to claim his new government is steering inflation down when it was already strongly taking that easy!

This is an excellent and somewhat scary analysis! abc.net.au/news/2023-10-15/v… If a similar analysis could expose the proportion of electorates from most to least susceptible to misinformation then would the graphs look the same? My hypothesis: absolutely yes!

Luxon disputes Goldman Sachs and beneficiaries criticisms rnz.co.nz/news/election-2023… The picture is worth 1000 words, but the quotes also raise questions - tell us where $$ for tax cuts is coming from, & what growth will look like: a lot will be property based - is that real growth?

So good to have a wonderful nature conservation news story. Just showing what is possible with the right motivation and supportive people everywhere! bbc.com/news/world-latin-ame…

OMG - has National heard of evidence informed policy? The science is clear - more people will die on the roads as a result of this decision and more will end up in the hospitals National is promising to get right. This is right up there with their cycle ways policing policy!
National will end Labour’s blanket speed limit reductions.

Oh, Mr Luxon - once again, you ignore all the science and evidence informed policy. Faster speeds mean more road deaths: fact! And more injury crashes and stress on a hospital system you are promising to repair: fact! I could go on, but why bother?!
Labour has literally slowed us all down, with reduced speed limits nationwide. A National government will get us moving again, restoring highways to 100kmh unless there’s a good reason not to. It’s time to get you and our economy moving!
