Fresh off the press, read it while it's still hot!
The International Economic Review has just published a new exciting paper by Gaëtan Fournier, Alberto Grillo and Yevgeny Tsodikovich on Strategic Flip-Flopping in Political Competition. It is available through @WileyEconomics here: doi.org/10.1111/iere.12778

In my JMP, I show that women disproportionately take blame for team failures and claim less credit for successes, even after accounting for performance, self-evaluations, and promotion motives.

@Lina_loz studies labor market disparities using lab and online experiments. Lina's JMP shows how gender differences in workers' attribution of credit for their team's success/failure contribute to hiring disparities, particularly when gender is unknown. sites.google.com/view/linama…

If you're Turkish, working in academia, and thinking of quitting, here's an idea for what to do: open a kebab restaurant and call it PhDöner.
A thread on recent elections: Many people in Turkey thought the elections in Hungary would give an idea about how the elections might turn out in Turkey next year. Clearly, the results did not give any hope to people in Turkey as Orbán (unfortunately) crushed rhe opposition.
In short, I had never seen people in Turkey become poor this visibly before. Even those hardcore Erdoğan supporters are starting to jump ship now, because there is just nothing left to defend this government. This is the feeling even in Erdoğan’s castle, Rize.
The effects of bad economy on the people, in my opinion, will outweigh anything Erdoğan has to say. It MUST. Millions of people are just sick of being disappointed in every election since 2002. Hopefully, this will be the last.
