I’m Kerry Daynes, a forensic psychologist, author, broadcaster, host of The Profiler podcast, and professional nosy parker. For 30 years, I’ve worked around the darker edges of human behaviour: serious crime, offenders, victims, police investigations, deception, behavioural analysis and the criminal justice system. On my Substack, I write about the things that fascinate me: true crime, forensic psychology, dark personalities, human nature and the stories behind the headlines. Expect memoir, behind-the-scenes stories, The Profiler podcast notes, psychological deep dives, things I’ve learned from the people I work with, and the occasional rant when something requires an emergency cup of tea and a rapid debrief. True crime without the serial-killer fan club. Psychology without the jargon. And plenty of questions/answers about why people do the things they do. Please come and have a look around - kerrydaynes.substack.com Kerry x

About time! I am sure that this can be achieved in a manner that protects the dignity of those who identify as no/opposite sex.
NEW: NHS bosses will finally be told they must accommodate patients according to their biological sex, in guidance to be published today - 18 months after the landmark Supreme Court ruling

Yesterday marked the second wave of the early release scheme, yet victims of stalking are still waiting for reassurance about how they will be protected. Through our work supporting victims of stalking, we know how frightening and uncertain an offender’s release can be.

This year marks 40 years since Suzy Lamplugh’s disappearance and 10 years since Alice Ruggles was murdered by her stalker💜 Two anniversaries that remind us why stalking must be taken seriously and why we cannot afford to keep missing the warning signs. [1/4]

Proud to announce I've become an ambassador of the Pankhurst Museum! I'm helping the UK’s only museum dedicated to the story of women's fight for the right to vote and the only place where you can visit a former home of the Pankhurst family to continue to celebrate this important legacy. The Pankhurst Museum now needs your help to continue its work, just as the suffragettes did over 100 years ago. The Pankhurst Centre also houses Manchester Women's Aid, and all the funds raised for our Museum mean more of our reserves can be used to keep vulnerable women and children in a refuge, able to access specialist support. Please consider signing up as a friend of this small but mighty museum. When you sign up as a friend you will get a year's free pass. Find out more about the friend's scheme and museum and sign up here mwa.enthuse.com/friendsofthe….   Help The Pankhurst Museum today by becoming one of the first 100 in the fight and you will also get a limited edition tote bag and your name on permanent display in the museum as one of the first 100 in the fight! @PankhurstCentre

No, I am certain not. It depends how the evidence is presented and what is omitted. But people certainly benefitted from her death.
Recorded and just had chance to watch this. I still think Diana was m*rdered. 🇬🇧

Thousands of women who were forced into street prostitution or subject to rape by grooming gangs have criminal convictions as a consequence of their abuse and exploitation. Help us support these women to challenge their convictions. 🔗ow.ly/2e9y50ZUtI1

Just wow.
BREAKING: “I’ve witnessed, I believe, 5 executions in Tennessee. Nothing about today was normal, typical at all.” Shocking new details emerge from the failed attempt to execute Christa Pike, the 50-year-old inmate who has spent nearly 30 years on Tennessee’s death row. At a news conference following the attempted execution, media witnesses are now revealing more about what Pike was saying and what they heard as the process unfolded. “The vein in my arm feels like it’s about to burst open,” Pike told her spiritual adviser during the process. Officials administered two syringes of pentobarbital, but Pike still had a heartbeat and was snoring after receiving the drugs, according to an emergency court filing from her attorneys. One witness described the sound as if Pike was “almost choking.” “She was clearly still alive. She was clearly still breathing.” The curtains inside the execution chamber went down twice as the process unfolded, and Tennessee officials ultimately were unable to complete the execution. Pike was sentenced to death in 1996 for the 1995 murder of 19-year-old Colleen Slemmer. She was 18 at the time of the killing.

Here is an absolutely shameless post to promote my two books A lot of people have heard of Keanu Reeves is Not in Love with You, but not so many know about The Future of Fraud, which came out earlier this year If you want to learn about Ancient Greek fraudsters, modern day scams, AI, crypto, social media and a whole lot more, give it a go It’s small, easy to read and (I think) sometimes funny… amzn.eu/d/0hknMg75 amzn.eu/d/03DjMCRx
