Silence is not an option when our democracy is at stake.
At the Kettering Foundation, we stand with @RevDrBarber and the many faith leaders who are gathering today to launch A #PledgeForMoralDefiance.
Their call for courage and moral leadership could not be more timely.
Today, KF Senior Fellow @RevDrBarber II joins faith leaders representing more than 10 million Americans outside the White House to launch a #PledgeForMoralDefiance.

What a meaningful way to close the day.
Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate LaTosha Brown and the extraordinary leadership, imagination, and contributions of Black women.
We’re grateful for the connections we made tonight at CBCF #ALC55 and inspired by the people continuing to build what comes next.
This is someone who's work has helped expand civic participation while investing in the leadership and power of Black women and girls.
Congratulations, LaTosha Brown, and thank you for showing us what it looks like to turn possibility into action.
A 150th birthday is a special occasion to look back, but Charles F. Kettering’s legacy has always been rooted in what comes next.
I’m honored to carry that spirit of experimentation into our work for a more inclusive democracy nearly 100 years after he founded the Charles F. Kettering Foundation (@KetteringFdn) in 1927.
With our centennial just ahead in 2027, I’m especially excited about the possibilities we have yet to imagine for our democracy. #CFKBday

Women constitute a full half of the participants in and beneficiaries of our democracy, but they have not always been allowed to participate in or to benefit from it equally.
For that reason and more, the @KetteringFdn is pleased to help celebrate the outstanding women in our community who are continuing the legacies of women leaders who came before them alongside the @ywcadayton. 🧡
What happens when more than 700 people come together to celebrate women changing a community?
You get a room full of joy, pride, and a lot of cheer! It was an honor to be the Next Generation Sponsor of the @ywcadayton's 2026 Women of Influence awards program to celebrate six remarkable leaders. KF President and CEO Sharon L. Davies shared remarks on behalf of the Kettering Foundation, reminding us that when women’s leadership is honored, democracy and communities grow stronger.
Congratulations to these incredible women whose leadership is shaping Dayton and making history every day. #WomensHistoryMonth

Congratulations to KF Senior Fellow @neal_katyal on being named Appellate Lawyer of the Year by Benchmark Litigation! Katyal leads Milbank’s Supreme Court and Appellate practice and has argued more than 50 cases before the US Supreme Court. His work defending constitutional principles and the rule of law reflects the values at the heart of our mission. 👏 bit.ly/4bnjud3
As Americans attempt to make sense of the administration’s congressionally unauthorized war against Iran, @KetteringFdn Senior Fellow @TimothyDSnyder, a globally respected expert on authoritarianism, suggests that retribution against the US may be the goal, not just a consequence.
When crises strike, democracies are tested.
KF Senior Fellow @TimothyDSnyder warns that acts of terror can be exploited to concentrate power and weaken democratic institutions in new blog. bit.ly/4rs70W0
Across American history, moments of crisis have demanded bravery. Now is no different.
KF Senior Fellow @judgeluttig is clear: justice is counting on our courage.
Drawing on the words of Paine, Lincoln, and the founders, KF Senior Fellow @judgeluttig reflects on the responsibility citizens share in defending the rule of law.

So glad to see KF Research Fellow Andrew Whitehead’s American Idolatry is now available in paperback. 📚
His research asks important questions about the relationship between faith, power, and public life and why those conversations matter for the health of our democracy. bakerbookhouse.com/products/…
This moment requires bold, courageous leadership to respond to the egregious threats to democracy we’re facing.
Our @KetteringFdn senior fellows are doing the necessary work, and we are honored to have them join us.
We are thrilled to announce the appointments of @ruthbenghiat, @BillKristol, and @TimothyDSnyder as our newest senior fellows at a most urgent time for our democracy.
Kettering Foundation (@KetteringFdn) Senior Fellow @DavidAFrench emphasizes the critical nature of SCOTUS decision in the tariff case for democracy.
"If we keep electing men like Trump, they will keep undermining that foundation, until it finally collapses.
One day that may well happen. But on Friday, the Supreme Court said not this day. On this day the presidency is stuffed back into its box. On this day the separation of powers prevails. And on this day the Constitution holds." nytimes.com/2026/02/22/opini…
Congratulations to @JudgeLuttig on this distinguished honor!
His stirring remarks remind us that courage is not only necessary but also worth celebrating.
We are proud to celebrate KF Senior Fellow @judgeluttig, who has been awarded honorary membership in the New York City Bar.
This extraordinary honor highlights the depth of his service to our country and his commitment to the rule of law. Read his remarks, which reflect the steadfast commitment to America’s constitutional principles that this recognition honors. bit.ly/4qMvFEo

My statement:
“Today, the U.S. Supreme Court stood up for the rule of law and Americans everywhere. Its message was simple: Presidents are powerful, but our Constitution is more powerful still. In America, only Congress can impose taxes on the American people.
The US Supreme Court gave us everything we asked for in our legal case. Everything.
I’m grateful for the leadership of the Liberty Justice Center, and in particular for the brilliant advocacy by its chair, Sara Albrecht, who led the fight when others wouldn’t and was dauntless in its defense of our constitutional order. I'm also grateful to the five small business owners who stood up against these unjust, unconstitutional taxes. By taking a stand, they have delivered crucial relief to tens of thousands of businesses and millions of consumers across the country.
Finally, I lack the words to properly thank my brilliant Milbank team, especially Colleen Roh Sinzdak and Sami Ilagan, who worked with me day and night for many months to craft the winning argument.
This case has always been about the presidency, not any one president. It has always been about separation of powers, and not the politics of the moment. I'm gratified to see our Supreme Court, which has been the bedrock of our government for 250 years, protect our most fundamental values.
When the Constitution is challenged, what matters most is whether people are willing to stand up for it. As the president and CEO of the @KetteringFdn, I am deeply proud to see our senior fellows doing just that.
@neal_katyal's outstanding work in this case exemplifies the courage and commitment that our democracy depends on!
Congratulations to KF Senior Fellow @neal_katyal for a victorious win before the US Supreme Court.
This achievement highlights the importance of taking action to defend democracy. We are incredibly proud of his courageous work, which continues to uphold the constitutional principles that guide our nation. nyti.ms/3MHkJdo
Today, federal judge Cameron Currie delivered a message about the use of criminal prosecution to settle old political scores: not in America. By dismissing the indictments against former FBI Director James @Comey and New York Attorney General @TishJames, the court has performed its constitutional duty to serve as a check against an overzealous executive branch and safeguarded the rule of law.
As we did from the outset, the @KetteringFdn continues to stand with our Senior Fellow James Comey, and we applaud his and Attorney General James’ courageous examples.
Today, a federal judge dismissed the criminal indictment against Kettering Foundation Senior Fellow and former FBI Director James @Comey. We are encouraged that the independent judiciary acted as a needed check.
Politically motivated prosecutions put our democracy in jeopardy by undermining the rule of law and creating an environment of fear to keep others from speaking out.
As we did at the outset, the Kettering Foundation continues to stand in solidarity with James Comey and others who demonstrate tremendous courage in defense of democracy.
A critically important warning for American democracy from respected jurist and Kettering Foundation Senior Fellow J. Michael Luttig, published by @TheAtlantic magazine.
