"Let it be told to the future world, that in the depth of winter, when nothing but hope and virtue could survive, that the city and the country, alarmed at one common danger, came forth to meet and to repulse it." -- Thomas Paine, The American Crisis (#1)

So far in God's providence we have survived with increasingly fewer & fewer strands of the ideals that formed us, with fewer & fewer of us even caring about them much. That in itself is a miracle historically. We may survive this next "shudder" as well-ONLY God knows for how long

Now - onto the next "shudder" of history - and may God help & guide us.

Our national history is clear: the extremes always correct-sometimes "shudder" into uncharted territory the other direction. We refuse the obvious "middle way" which the #Republic must depend on for the survival of "we the people." We keep thinking "this time" we can do it right

The growing indications are we are headed into yet another massive "shudder" of change-this fall & into 2028. We allowed greed & the cult of egomania to rot us from the inside-all for new war, economic disaster & grevious wealth generation for the few at the expense of the masses

I regret to inform you that once you've lived in Chicago, every other city's skyline looks like a rough draft.
