Dr. Paul Christo from @HopkinsMedicine spoke about the trend in opioid overdose (OD) deaths. National drug OD deaths have been increasing, nearly 92k in 2020 (driven by fentanyl) He walked through the well described 3 waves of opioid overdose deaths in the US (see pic) 3/

In the US - only 20% of people with hep c ages 15-29 (mostly from #IDU) live within 10 miles of syringe service programs 😔 But CDC recently has set funding for these programs - first time done at the federal level! 4/
