My top 10 favourite games I played this year.
I haven’t beaten as many games as in previous years, but I still played and caught up on a bunch of pretty awesome ones.
So, I’m pretty happy with my 2025.
Finished Darkstalkers 3. It shines with some smooth and beautiful animations, responsive controls, and an amazing soundtrack. The new characters are pretty cool too.
The cartoony violence is great, and I like that it doesn't take itself too serious.
Finished Alone In The Dark 2. Everything about this game is just weird and silly, and I love it.
I liked the ghost pirate story, and I'm a big fan of the OST as well, although it's a bit too jolly sometimes. It just felt more focused on action than horror and atmosphere overall.
Finished Bulb Boy. Very short and bizarre little horror puzzle adventure with a few neat puzzles and a macabre yet kinda cute art style.
It definitely has a quirky appeal to it, and a lot of gross humor, which will probably turn off some people.
Finished My Big Sister. A pretty neat top-down adventure game with an interesting story about two sisters who try to break a curse.
I like the art style and the quirky dynamic between the sisters. It’s kinda silly at times, but surprisingly touching and serious as well.
Finished Alone in the Dark (1992). It has some of the clunkiest controls I've ever experienced, but it kinda redeemed itself by letting me save/load anywhere I wanted.
It definitely has charm to it tho, and I have to give it credit for paving the way for so many horror games.
I'll be going way back in time to the year 1992 today and play the grandfather of horror games, Alone in the Dark.
Probably going to be rough when it comes to the controls, but I still hope i can beat it. 😅
Finished MediEvil 2. I just love the MediEvil games. I love the humor, the whole gothic style and the orchestral music. It all fits together so well.
The controls are pretty finicky though, and I didn't like the boxing boss fight. The idea is nice but it was just frustrating.
Finished Doom 3. I honestly dig the slower, more intense sci-fi horror atmosphere Doom 3 has. There is still a ton of action and shooting, but you definitely don't feel like an unstoppable force like in Doom 1 and Doom 2.
The visuals are great too, especially Hell looks awesome!
Finished Monster Party. Definitely one of the weirder games on the NES. The ending was visually surprisingly brutal for a NES game.
I really liked the strange bosses in this game. Only thing that annoyed me was the maze level, but other than that, it was a pretty fun game.
I watched the old Evil Dead trilogy over the weekend, and I just love these movies.
Sure, they get increasingly silly with each movie, but I really like the mix of horror and comedy.
I can see why Army of Darkness is a little bit too much comedy for some people though. 😅
Finished Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. I love the therapy sessions and how your answers there have an affect on how people look and behave.
I'm not a big fan of the chases tho. I rather have Homecoming's janky combat than getting chased through confusing mazes constantly. 😅
Finished Silent Hill Homecoming. I liked the story overall, even though certain stuff kinda made no sense and shouldn't be there. I got used to the combat after a while, but it does feel pretty clunky.
The boss design is great tho, and Yamaoka nailed it with the OST as always.

2 years ago, Silent Hill 2 Remake was released. 😍✨️
Here are some artworks I've made.🖤
I'm still in the mood to play Silent Hill games, so luckily for me there are still three Silent Hill games I haven't played yet.
I know they are kinda the black sheep of the franchise for many people, but I'm still excited.
Finished Darkstalkers: Night Warriors. I enjoyed pretty much all of it. The character and stage designs are great, the controls feel good, and the music is also pretty dope.
My lack of skill also showed in the later stages, because I got my ass kicked pretty hard. 😅
