If Merseyrail is coming back into public ownership, its cleaners shouldn't be left behind.
Labour committed to the biggest wave of insourcing in a generation. Now it's time to bring Merseyrail cleaners back in-house.

On Tuesday, MPs held an evidence session into alternative forms of ownership for water.
This wouldn’t have happened without the groundswell of support for public ownership. The pressure this has created has pushed the debate on from whether we replace the current privatised mess, to how we replace it.
Off the back of this, I and 30 other Labour MPs have called on the Prime Minister to make public ownership the ultimate goal for water in his 10-year plan, and commit to a feasibility study that sets out how we get there.
This government can be the one that fixes water for good - but only if it commits to full public ownership.

I’m proud to support @BreastCancerNow's #WearItPink campaign.
Every year in the UK, 60,000 women and 450 men are diagnosed with breast cancer, and while 9 in 10 now survive for 5 years or more, it is still the biggest killer of working-age women.
Early diagnosis saves lives.
I joined @EndFurniturePov in Parliament for the launch of Creating Homes to Rebuild Lives.
Only 3% of social housing is let furnished. A safe home must be somewhere people can sleep, cook, care for their children & rebuild their lives after domestic abuse.
This important report advocates for a greater use of furnished tenancies for survivors and stronger local crisis support.

A fantastic launch of the #RightToFoodCommission in Parliament, bringing together commissioners, parliamentarians, trade unions, campaigners and the communities at the heart of this fight.
It has been one of the honours of my life to listen to communities across the country and work alongside people determined to end the scourge of hunger.
In one of the richest countries in the world, nobody should be worried about where their next meal is coming from.
Now we need Government action.
A Right to Food enshrined in law, ensuring everyone can access affordable, nutritious food with dignity.
Our communities cannot carry on paying the price for political decisions that drive poverty and food insecurity.
Hunger is a political choice. Together, we must demand a different future.

People wrongly convicted of crimes can spend decades fighting to prove their innocence.
Trew’s Law would give them a fairer route to justice.
We’ve now hit 25,000 signatures - keep sharing Trew’s Law!
