In year 20 of having a brand/space, I don’t focus on cultivating things for my friends. I primarily create things based on my collectors and customer base. I feel like core friend support starts fading after year 3 lol
The Lanterns shows that even in fiction, there’s a pocket of white people intolerant of Black folks expressing HISTORICALLY ACCURATE pain. There’s an unwillingness to sit with that reality unless the pain is softened or sanitized. That’s part of the psychology of racism.
I wasn’t planning on going to see The Odyssey but nevertheless I’m gonna report all the bigoted internet reviews as spam
The new @cherrymountainarts isn’t going to be a gallery. It’ll be a true public arts space with a gift shop. I fucking hate traditional gallery culture. It’s not welcoming, friendly or dynamic enough to ME.
I want this new space to unite the city. PLEASE PLEASE PELASE pass this along as much as you can. We’ll keep submissions open for TWO WEEKS. Big beautiful new space loading……

Trump isn’t the singular problem. It’s an entire circle of politicians and unintellectual thinkers driving him & constantly reinforcing the idea that his destructive decisions are somehow productive. This is what happens when a peer group has low ethics and poor philosophy.

“Words don’t have meaning without context.”
Ta-Nehisi Coates humorously explains why relationships behind words , like calling a spouse “honey,” matters in relation to the N-Word and Black people.
(This was a great event at Northwestern)
Don’t let where you’re from limit where you go. If I listened to Chicago art snobs, I would’ve quit before I started. Traveling and building relationships elsewhere changed everything. No gallery in my hometown ever reached out, so I built my own lane and did it differently.
The tally of white Americans who don’t know that Puerto Rico is in the United States is drastically rising as we approach halftime.
The Bears played a good season and went down fighting. Don’t be the type of bears fan that starts shitting on them after this loss.
Chicago did do something special….the finished lol. They did all of the shit the Packers failed to do. Just take the loss with class.
#Packers S Javon Bullard on the loss to Chicago:
"No disrespect to them, but it ain't sh*t that they did. It's us. We gotta finish. You know we whoopin' they a** the whole game. We gotta finish. ... Chicago ain't do sh*t special."
