📢Once downloaded, our clever app will ping your phone a reminder of your local food bank's shopping list when you ARRIVE at the Supermarket.
✅Do your own shopping, choose something for the food bank and leave it in the donation box, knowing you’ve given exactly what is needed.

Today in Parliament, the Government formally introduced the Bill to remove the two-child limit in Universal Credit.
📍 It's a significant moment for campaigners and millions of families affected by this cruel policy.

Really disappointed to miss this yesterday.
Great chance for MSPs to hear about this important report.
Shows the prize of poverty reduction:
➡️happier individuals;
➡️a more dynamic economy;
➡️sustainable public services.
Everyone supports those, time to deliver them.
IPPR Scotland director Philip Whyte presents our Tipping The Scales Report (with @SaveChildrenSCO and @jrf_uk) in Scottish Parliament, making the case for a renewed, preventative approach to public policy and spending, to reduce poverty and inequality in Scotland.

Both the @TrussellTrust and the @jrf_uk have called for a guarantee for benefits claimants to afford the basics needed to live, and the increase to unviersal credit won't cover it

We’ve had 218 applications in since opening them 1 day ago.
That’s 87 for adults, 88 for 5-18s, 30 for preschool and 13 for Baby Box Booster. I’m glad we’re providing a service that people need and horrified that we have to provide access to a basic human right in such volumes.

Our research shows that we must increase the basic rate of #UniversalCredit to at least £120 a week to address the significant gap that now exists between the level of support people receive and their living costs.

🧵The social security system should support us all when we face challenging times, but right now it’s not covering the essentials and pushing some people into even deeper hardship.
What’s gone wrong and what can be done about it?

🧵 As the #CostOfLiving increases, people across the UK are going without the essentials we all need to survive.
Universal Credit should support people when they need it, but it isn't providing enough to cover the cost of all the essentials, like food and utilities ⤵️
