COBRA TEAM AND CENTRAL FORCES: WHY IS THERE NO THOROUGH INVESTIGATION INTO ARMED GROUPS OPERATING IN MANIPUR’S HILL DISTRICTS? The Kuki-Zo community demands clear answers and immediate action from the Cobra team, Central Forces, NIA, and the Government of India. Reports concerning the presence and activities of NSCN-IM, the NSCN eastern flank, ZUF (Kamson), and other armed groups across Manipur’s hill districts must not be ignored. While Kuki-Zo ancestral villages continue to suffer killings, burning, displacement, and insecurity, the authorities must explain what concrete steps they have taken to investigate the armed groups operating in these areas. Why does the Kuki-Zo community continue to demand security and accountability while its ancestral villages remain vulnerable? The alleged connections and cooperation among NSCN-IM, ZUF (Kamson), Shanni National Army elements, Myanmar-based armed actors, Arambai Tenggol, Meitei Leepun, and other groups must be investigated wherever credible evidence exists. The role of any political leader, civil society organization, or other individual must also be examined impartially if evidence establishes a relevant connection to violence or armed activity. The United Naga Council, Senapati District Students’ Association, JTM, NPO, ANSAM, Tangkhul CSOs, Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho, Meitei CSOs, and Meitei MLAs must not be exempt from legitimate public scrutiny. No organization, political leader, or armed group should receive special treatment or escape accountability. OUR DEMANDS ARE CLEAR: The Cobra team and Central Forces must thoroughly investigate credible reports, verify the locations and activities of armed groups, strengthen civilian protection, and take lawful action against anyone found responsible for violence. The NIA and other competent authorities must ensure impartial investigations, regardless of community, political influence, or organizational affiliation. The Government of India cannot restore lasting peace through selective enforcement. Every civilian deserves protection, every victim deserves justice, and every armed group must be subject to the law. ENOUGH OF SELECTIVE ACTION. ENOUGH OF UNANSWERED QUESTIONS.
