NEWLY EMPLOYED HEALTH WORKERS IN PLATEAU STATE GOING 10 MONTHS WITHOUT SALARY. After his Excellency, The Executive governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang suspended all employments “from the 1st of October 2022”, a waiver was granted to the newly employed health workers (Doctors, Nurses, pharmacists, medical laboratory scientist e.t.c) of the Plateau Specialist hospital and the Plateau State Hospital management board to continue work due to lack of man power in the health sector. These people have been working for over 10 months now and the government has not shown any financial commitment in terms of renumeration since they began work, rather they have only received empty promises that continue to differ their hope. "Don't worry, they will pay next month" has been the never ending promise that never came to pass. These health workers applied for this job which was duely advertised, they were interviewed and granted employment. Most of them resigned from their previous jobs to work with the state government. How do you expect your employees to survive without salaries for 10 months in this daunting economy? No one has even given any explanation as to why they have not been paid while benefiting from their services. Please the government of the day as a matter of urgency needs to address this lingering situation and not pretend as if all is well.
