Hope you enjoy this video and getting a different perspective on my life! I’m often posting about my successes and my journalism career, but rarely about what goes on behind the scenes. I want to change that by creating more content that promotes disability awareness and advocacy. As the only member of the UCF media with a physical disability, I don’t let that stop me from going out and doing the best reporting I can. Over the past three months, I’ve reached 1.7 million impressions on social media while covering the sports I love. I currently work for CBS Sports Knights247 and Sons of UCF. I’ve even had the opportunity to be featured in a FOX Sports piece that earned an Emmy nomination. But what you don’t always see are the challenges behind the scenes. Whether it’s getting up in the morning, using the bathroom, dealing with my wheelchair acting up throughout the day or not being able to move as quickly as my colleagues, I’m constantly forced to adapt and persevere. That’s the mindset I’ve developed throughout my life, and it continues to shape me as I grow into a young professional in this industry. My goal is to show that having a disability doesn’t mean you can’t chase your dreams. The journey might look different, but the passion and determination are just the same. This is just the beginning of sharing more of my life beyond the sidelines. ♿️ #UCF
