Australia votes against the US & Israel to allow the Palestinian Authority President to address the UN General Assembly

After the Trump administration refuses visas for the Palestinian delegation to attend the UN General Assembly session, UNGA votes 152-3-4 to allow Palestinian Authority to speak by video. Notable that only one Forum island state (Vanuatu) actually participates in the vote.

Murrays forever #loyaltyclub
The new Ambassador also mentions that he took the bus from Sydney to Canberra to commence his posting, offering him the chance to chat with everyday Australians. Which raises one critical question: Murrays or Greyhound?

Israel is pretending that Hamas “remains strong so it can justify its continuing military operations—and avoid having to answer difficult questions about the future of Palestinians,” writes Jaser AbuMousa. foreignaffairs.com/palestini

Our coverage last year of evictions and house demolitions in the Silwan district of East Jerusalem, and the role played by an Australian-Israeli in efforts to expand a Jewish presence throughout the Holy City smh.com.au/politics/federal/

đŸ’„Now in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan: 11 Palestinian families are being evicted for the benefit of the foreign-funded extremist settler group Ateret Cohanim. Yesterday, 4 more were evicted. @NirHasson

My heart breaks for the Bani Odeh family. Ali Bani Odeh, his wife, and two of their young children — only 5 and 7 years old — were killed in Tammun. Two other children survived and will carry this trauma for the rest of their lives. Beyond politics, beyond narratives, this is the destruction of a family. An investigation has already been announced. As usual, we will likely hear familiar conclusions: a failure in identifying the target, mistaken identity, or an operational error. But when civilians are killed again and again, the question becomes unavoidable: Is this a problem of failing to identify targets? Is it a problem of not knowing how to aim? Or is it a problem of knowing exactly what is being done and accepting the consequences? No child should live through this. No parent should die this way. The investigation must not be a formality. Truth, accountability, and justice are the minimum owed to the Bani Odeh family — and to every civilian life that deserves protection.
