Damn Kuminga is holding opponents to 37% FG on defense 😂 Wolves ranked #3 defense. This is legitimately an ELITE defender. Ranked #3 in the NBA for Best Net Pts added defensively as well. #18 in the entire NBA in overall pts added per ESPN Analytics 🤯 teapawt.net/clutchnumbers/status/2…

This Jk "In his role" bs is a backhanded compliment to cap his ceiling by dumb mfs. Just say he had a good game and move on man... Ya'll dont say that shit about no one else.

Dunleavy and Kerr told the fanbase that Porzingis was better than this and you all believed him...
Jonathan Kuminga tasked with dirty work and connective play while staying confident in his shot.
Chris Finch: “Well, you know, we asked him when he got here. We knew he needed to be our dirty work guy - run the floor, get rebounds, guard at a high level. Just be some connective tissue out there doing all the things that he can do with his physicality, his athleticism. But we also told him to stay really confident in your shot. When you’re open, let it fly. We trust your game offensively. And he’s really shooting the lights out for us right now because he’s getting good shots in the flow of the offense with his feet set. And they just, they all feel like they’re going to go in.”
Kuminga vs. Houston: 16 PTS (4/7 3PM) • 8 REB • 5 AST.
JK is shooting 46.3% from deep this season and over his last two games has 5 BLK and 14 DREB. Minnesota has been +75 with him on the floor this season.

Chris Finch is speaking about Jonathan Kuminga these days the way he used to speak about Mike Conley and Kyle Anderson.
With patience and grit, Kuminga has become essential to the Wolves.

2nd - Jonathan Kuminga: 13–26, 50.0%

Replying to @YessirskiHowl
For anyone thinking,
Kuminga is just a nice D hustle "ROLE" player doing dirty work:
What JK did without Steph/Dray:
led Critical Win❤️🔥over HOU
(that's why JK's "UNPLAYABLE"/DNP'd by Kerr)

Jonathan Kuminga last season vs the 2nd seed Houston Rockets on 12/5/24 without both Steph Curry & Draymond Green:

7 rebounds
2 assists

I guess he played the right way this game. The Warriors had lost 5 in a row, and in a must win game Jonathan Kuminga & Andrew Wiggins ("The Wingmen") carried the Warriors to a win that snapped their losing streak. There were a whole lotta halfcourt buckets in this game for Kuminga. One in particular closed the game. A whole lotta tough buckets against a real team with real defenders that weren't tanking like the 2026 Washington Wizards. It's almost as if making the argument that he's only scoring in transition for his new team as if he is incapable of scoring in a halfcourt setting is a lil disingenuous. A whole lotta goalpost movin and booty shakin from the doomers this past week... So because of that, and the doomers in my mentions about the Houston game last night, yall forced me to make a 10 minute video of Kuminga doing the exact same shit last year against a better Houston team without Steph Curry and Draymond Green..

Healing the Steve Kerr damage one day at a time
Jonathan Kuminga had 16p 8r 5a & tied his career-high with 4-3PTM tonight.
I asked Chris Finch pregame about JK's confidence shooting that shot...
"We told him take all the open 3's that come your way. When he does something quick, & usually when you're quick you're committed to it & you've got confidence in what you're about to do, it works out well. When he shoots that shot, it looks like it's going in to me & we just keep telling him to keep teeing it up."
Postgame I asked JK about it...
"Preseason I think I was kinda hesitant to shoot the ball and he told me to just let it fly."
As for his 2 clutch corner-3ptrs in front of Wolves bench tonight?
"It felt great. The support of my guys behind me, they give me more confidence cause every time I catch the ball they're all screaming to shoot the ball."

It’s so interesting to me that only a hand full of ppl and the Minn coaches saw through all of that empty calories in the second round of the playoffs on jK ! Don’t tell me that’s all Kerr wanted JK to do! That’s not how it works ! Trust vs being snatched on every mistake is a huge difference ! Last night JK made a couple mistakes Finch let him play through it ! Finch solved JK off ball issues by putting JK at POA and on the dudes ! Finch is saying go guard the motha g…z and JK is doing that !! Smgdh 👊

JONATHAN KUMINGA.
Rockets were 7-1, unbeaten at home and favored by 8.5, and we walk out of Houston with a W and no Ant. Finch said we'd be lost without him. Coach was underselling it

Timberwolves without their best player shut down the hottest team in the league mid-streak. Gave them their first home L. Ant was not playing.

He could always shoot. I watch him shoot this way every preszn The only preszn he didn't light it up was w/ the Wolves. I'll tell you why.
After 4.5 years with a coach who pulled him for every mistake his confidence was shot. He was afraid to shoot during the regular szn.

Thank you @Timberwolves for saving Kuminga from the misery of Mike Dunleavy — the same GM who signed a ill injury prone Porzingis (and then resigned him in the summer to a 40 mil contract to not play a single minute this season) to get rid of him cuz Kerr was giving him DNPs.
