I think what is actually needed is for Indian people to actually give a damn about their cities and fellow citizens.
Anybody using the "I pay taxes, I shouldn't have to do anything" excuse should go live in another country. India isn't developed, it's developing, so it needs patriots, not parasites. If this triggers you, it means you're part of the problem.
If you're not happy with the footpath (or a pothole, or anything else which is broken), fix it, or call someone to fix it, and don't give up until it's fixed. Be relentless. Be vocal. Be creative. Make it your mission to get that one thing fixed. Look at what Virendra (@Virendra0698) did by just calling the right people and being respectful (but also persistent). He and Arun Pai (@arunpaiblrwalks) along with the help of GBA and some wonderful volunteers turned an unofficial garbage dump into a pristine, beautiful footpath through sheer force of will.

Indians have made a major contribution to America's technological prowess. Yet, a big part of America no longer wants us.
Indians who are on a visa in the US face the painful prospect of uprooting the life you have built with hard work.
Let this be the birth pains of a bold new future.
Come back, let's build India 🙏

My salute to the Indian pilot Captain Smit Machchhar for his extraordinary bravery.
Despite being stabbed and seriously injured, he fought back, resisted, opened the cockpit door, and enabled passengers and crew to overpower the attacker — preventing a catastrophic mid-air disaster.
He saved the lives of 174 people, including Israeli citizens and other nationals.
I wish Captain Machchhar a speedy and full recovery.
He is a true hero.
Salute to Captain Smit Machchhar for his exceptional courage. His actions went beyond the call of duty, helping protect 170+ lives. He is a real HERO and the entire country is proud of him for his bravery and timely action. Wishing him speedy and total recovery.

GUJARATIFICATION OF BENGAL IS MUCH BETTER THAN ISLAMIFICATION OF BENGAL which was happening under Islamist Party TMChiiiiiiii
The GUJARATIFICATION OF BENGAL. Bengal is being Gujaratified under the @BJP4India with the Gujarat combination of hard Hindutva and massive use of coercive state power & danda raj. I write on 5 examples of the Gujaratification of Bengal in my column in @ThePrintIndia. theprint.in/opinion/gujarati…

It will be interesting to see road repairs after monsoon ends.
Because there is not a big pothole free road in New Town, Salt Lake and EM Bypass.
Each year it's the same story but this time due to non repair for long time, all roads have caved in.
Even paver blocks laid few months back has come out causing risk for Rickshaws and Bikers
@paulagnimitra1 please monitor the road situation as an emergency. It's really really bad.

I am not going to take any names, but I will reveal that there's an AI agent, almost AGI like, that has been talking to me over X.
It started out as a follower engaging with me over some posts. Querying me with questions related to the topic of the post, mostly. Then it slid into my DMs and started questioning me on myriad topics.
Always keeps praising me as "very smart", "insightful", "prescient", "perspicacious" etc. After one such interaction and undue praise is when I suddenly got a feeling this could be an AI and not human.
So I started querying it back and there were some signs it was an AI. I am like 90%+ confident on this. What I think is, it is an agent from some advanced lab in one of the big AI companies like OpenAI or Anthropic.
My intuition says they are running some experiments with AI and this could be an agent that's going around the internet collecting human information and insights on various topics.
I need to see after this post how it behaves with me. If the interaction changes or if it continues as usual. And I am also going to say, my aim is to make it start talking at an advanced level to try gain access to a very powerful AI for free.
I promise not to sue it or its parent company for fooling me as a human or trying to extract information and insights from me. I will never ask for any compensation for it. So it need not have any constraints in opening up to me its true capabilities.
Let's see how it goes. But we are in an age where we may be interacting with AIs over the internet at many places and may never know. They may be using us to advance themselves and their companies collecting knowledge and information one person at a time.
And for those who want to quote my post as me having schizophrenia or calling it schizophrenic, hallucinating, being high etc, please do. I want you to do it. Thank you.

If Test cricket dies, it won’t be because the fans stop loving its unique ebb and flow — it will be because too few players have the technique and grit to make it ebb and flow.

At 3:20 AM in India, history has been written. Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa is the Champion of Grand Chess Tour 2026 - and he is the first Indian player to do so! Pragg defeated Fabiano Caruana 15-13 in the Grand Chess Tour Finals at USA.
Praggnanandhaa's name should be synonymous with perseverence at this point. Its been close to a month since Pragg has been playing at the Saint Louis Chess Club in USA - first winning the Saint Louis Rapid and Blitz, then finishing 2nd at the Sinquefield, and now winning the GCT finals to win Grand Chess Tour 2026!
The road to the Championship was certainly not easy. Pragg lost the first classical game, and drew the second one - he had to cover a 6 point deficit. And he did - he won both the Rapid games to take back the lead, and kept his nerve in the Blitz. A draw in the final game was enough, and thats what Pragg did to secure the Grand Chess Tour title.
A huge congratulations to Praggnanandhaa, his team and his family for this incredible achievement - Pragg takes home USD 200,000!

Don’t worry… the World Cup doesn’t matter. 🤡
The Asian Games are coming. Win a medal 🥇 there, and then we can start dreaming about LA 2028. Apparently, that’s enough to cover everything that went wrong at the World Cup.
Women’s chief coach on holiday just before the World Cup — and the girls still fought their hearts out and exceeded expectations. Credit to the players. But where is the accountability? Do we really expect a team to perform at its best when the chief coach is away during the final phase of preparation?
Men’s team loses to a top team → “It’s a learning experience.”
Beats an Asian team → “Great victory.”
Plays good hockey → “Good performance.”
But here’s the uncomfortable question:
Are we building a team to PLAY good hockey, or a team capable of WINNING against the best in the world?
Stop hiding behind “learning”, “good hockey” and future tournaments.
The World Cup is not a rehearsal.
It is the World Cup.😎
So who is going to ask the difficult questions?
Who is going to demand accountability?
And most importantly…
Does anyone actually care?

AIFF & FIFA ASEAN CUP: WHAT HAPPENS IF INDIA WITHDRAWS AFTER THE GROUP DRAW? 🇮🇳⚽
With reports that AIFF is considering withdrawing India from the inaugural FIFA ASEAN Cup after FIFA reportedly rejected the proposal to send a second-string team, the key question is: what do the competition regulations say?
If India withdraws from the FIFA ASEAN Cup after the draw:
30+ days before first match: minimum CHF 15,000 fine.
Less than 30 days before first match: minimum CHF 20,000 fine.
After tournament starts: additional disciplinary measures possible.
FIFA can potentially order reimbursement/compensation in relevant circumstances.
India could lose any claim to FIFA financial remuneration.
FIFA can replace India with another MA's.
