Useful tools for vtubers! I bet you haven't heard of some of these! 1. AudioRelay AudioRelay is useful for 2 PC setups. It allows you to listen to the audio of your gaming PC with sub-5 ms delay from your main PC and it's headset. Very useful, and I find myself using it regardless of whether I'm streaming or not. 2. Affinity Studio Affinity was formerly a buy-to-own Adobe alternative, but was purchased by Canva a while back. It has now launched as Affinity Studio, which is completely free and replaces multiple Adobe design products. Super useful for editing memes, making thumbnails, etc. 3. Mullvad The cheapest, fastest, most secure and most reliable VPN out there. They do not do sponsorships/ads, and rely purely on word of mouth, meaning they don't have to offset the ad cost by overcharging customers. Mullvad do not keep logs of any kind, and do not have to provide anything due to being based in Switzerland. Authorities have been told to kick sand multiple times in past. The client is frequently updated and has all modern features you'd expect like split tunneling, which allows you to selectively not apply the VPN to some programs that need max bandwidth, like OBS. 4. Mega Cheap, reliable and secure online backup service. I switched from Google Drive because Mega was significantly cheaper per TB and I'm glad I did. I find that Mega also uses 1/4 of the PC resources when actively syncing files compared to Drive. All files, and even your connection to Mega are encrypted. 5. Teleport Teleport is an OBS plugin that allows you to take your feed from your gaming PC and send it over the network with a 1 second delay to your workstation/encoding PC. I love Teleport for it's ease of use, and the fact that it sends the audio feed along with the video, meaning the game audio has the same amount of delay as the video feed. This is something no other competitor has, and saves you a lot of headaches. 6. Davinci Resolve Resolve is a completely free video editor, and movie studios are actively switching from Adobe Premiere due to it's ease of use, reliability and more efficient resource usage. I personally like Resolve for it's separate editing workflows. If I'm just doing a quick clip, I can use the simpler clipping workflow. If I need to do some more in-depth editing, I can use the editing workflow, which makes the timeline more detailed and allows me to use more effects/editing tools. 7. MoveMouse Keeps your main PC's monitor from going into DisplayPort power saving mode while you're using your gaming PC. 8. Auto-open folders on startup (base Windows feature) You can have Windows open folders for you on startup! Press Windows+R, then type "shell:startup" without the quotes, then enter. This will open Windows' autostart folder. Any shortcut for either a program or a folder will be automatically opened when you log in! 9. Bitwarden The best password manager, period. A password manager makes it impossible to get into your accounts when paired with a 2FA service. You log in to your vault with a master password, then verify via 2FA and then can log into any of your services with 99 character passwords that are impossible to brute force. Bitwarden integrates natively into Apple's password manager feature, meaning you can log in to any of your services with one tap and a Face ID scan. 10. 2FAS One of the, if not the most secure 2FA services out there. On top of being easy to use, 2FAS does not use SMS as a recovery option, which is insecure. After installing 2FAS, you can save a recovery file to either your iCloud drive, or Google Drive as a secure way of getting back in if you lose your phone. DO NOT USE SMS 2FA ON ANY SERVICE. While unlikely for smaller vtubers, sim jacking is a frequent way that large creators get hacked. Ex-director of the CIA, John Brennan had his phone hacked via sim jacking while in his role. It is both very easy to do, and very easy to protect yourself. Just don't use SMS as a recovery option, ever.
