Ok, it took me a few days to muster the courage to listen to myself on a podcast, but I really enjoyed talking to @DrugDiscovNews about sex differences and heart valves! What a fun experience, and such a joy to be alongside the wonderful @BrianAguado and @AnsethGroup!

Congratulations to @AnaMaPorras!! Winner of the @aaas Early Career Award for Public Engagement in Science (and possibly the only person in the world capable of getting me out of Twitter hibernation). So proud of her amazing work!!
In my #extracellularmatrix engineering class, I offered an extra credit assignment to make a meme (or graphical abstract) illustrating an ECM-related concept. The results brought me great joy, so I thought I'd share some of my favorites (all with permission).
They came up with so many creative ways to illustrate ECM and ECM engineering concepts! [credit to @IAMichaelNelson for the collagen meme below]
Free ice cream, a mini-concert by the UW band, a high-five from Bucky, beautiful Terrace views, and a farewell pic with @BeckyBlank -- you know, just a typical Monday in Madison. 馃榾 #OnWisconsin
I'm always so conflicted watching students graduate - it's hard to see them leave, but I'm excited for what's in store for them next. Best of luck to all of our @UWMadison_BME graduates! You are awesome. 馃ぉ #UWGrad #OnWisconsin
I am one proud academic mom right now! 鈽猴笍 @AnaMaPorras is an amazing scientist, educator, colleague, and friend, and she so highly deserves this recognition! #IfThenSheCan
Meet Dr. Ana Maria Porras (@AnaMaPorras), a biomedical engineer and science artist featured in @smithsonian鈥檚 #IfThenSheCan Exhibit. She studies the human microbiome and crochets microbes to engage the public with science. (1/3) #WomensHistoryMonth
Entering day 7 of covid+ house, although it feels more like day 847. Meanwhile, work demands remain totally unrelenting, so (sick) kiddo put on this to cheer me on (which honestly kinda worked). 馃槏鉂わ笍 @Momademia
Congrats to my student @vedapatil44 on making it to the finals of the 3-minute thesis competition! She also inspired our lab group to ALL compose 3-minute theses - highly recommend for a lab group meeting idea!
Come cheer on @vedapatil44 and Nishant Verma as they compete in the Three Minute Thesis Finals competition Friday morning. See all the details here: bit.ly/3uVyvOj
This group of strong women never fails to inspire and awe me. I could not be more thrilled to make #GoodTrouble with them.
