In addition to all those tips, from a 36 year old:
- Although money is temporary, investing early isn’t. Even $100/month in an index fund (using your TFSA/Roth IRA) will compound over time. Future you will be grateful.
- Say yes more than no. Especially to things outside your comfort zone. Some of my favorite things in life started as a no.
- Strengthen the relationships that matter. The more people you know, the more drama you get. That's the unfortunate reality.
- Be nice to people now. You never know who you’ll run into in the future, and you don’t want their lasting memory of you to be "that idiot."
tips from a 26 year old :
• slow down, no one cares more than you do, take your time, no one actually has their life figured out, relax
• stop being embarrassed over little things, once again, nobody cares
• you don't need alcohol or drugs to have "fun"
• do what you have to do, yourself. no one else will do it for you, some people work for the life they want, others don't
• pain and sadness is temporary, it is also okay to feel these things, like I said before, no one has their life figured out
• work towards the life you want, the money will come eventually, be patient and don't chase
• money is temporary, experience is forever, do the things you've always wanted to do, trust me you won't regret any of it
• playing a sport, going to the gym, or a simple walk outside will solve most of your mental health issues
