Tekken 8 sold only 20k physical in Japan at launch in its first week, since digital percentage is around 50% in Japan on PS5 now that means Tekken 8 only sold around 40k total in Japan in its first week at launch while it had sold 1 million worldwide in its first week and had sold 2 million worldwide by its 1st month from launch. Tekken 8 in Japan had fallen to 30th aka last place on the physical charts by week 3 before falling off the chart entirely by week 4, where it sold only 2.2k units in Japan in week 3 and had sold only 5.3k units in its 2nd week, so by week 3 Tekken 8 had sold a total of around 30k units physically in Japan, which with digital percentage factored in would mean Tekken 8 only sold around 60k in total in Japan by the end of its 3rd week on sale, while it had sold 2 million worldwide by that time, meaning the total Japanese percentage of Tekken 8 buyers are under 4% of the people who financially supported Tekken 8. If Tekken 8 didn't sell outside Japan it would have been a catastrophic failure and a commercial bomb that made no profit at all you fucking idiot and Bandai Namco actually could've irreparably suffered as a result, if it wasn't for the US, EU and Asia sales outside of Japan ensuring that Tekken 8 could even be profitable then Tekken 8 would have been a massive flop you dumbass.

It's become very apparent that for Japanese people (generalizing), stuff like resistance, rioting, rebellion, justice, etc, are all just for aesthetic. They like putting these themes in their manga and anime just for entertainment, but won't understand why they happen irl.

No. I never said "illegal things are fine as long as there's a reason", but legality and morality are separate questions. Getting pretty tired of people putting words in my mouth and spreading misinformation, so here's the gist from somebody who actually studied videogame law. Emulation and modding aren't inherently illegal in Japan. This Tekken 6 project isn't even emulation. It recompiles the Xbox 360 version to run on PC, and doesn't distribute the game itself. You supply your own ISO. Owning the disc matters too. Dumping a disc you bought is not the same as downloading a pirated copy. So no, playing Tekken 6 with rollback ISN'T automatically piracy. That doesn't mean every setup is legal, since bypassing copy protection or recompiling copyrighted code can still raise legal issues in Japan. Stop treating emulation, modding and piracy as if they're the same thing though. They're not. And frankly, even where piracy is involved, I don't think playing a game that's nearly 20 years old with no official rollback rerelease is some terrible moral failing. You're free to disagree, but legality and morality aren't the same thing. My master's thesis on videogame copyright, if anyone's interested: aryatayebi.wordpress.com/201…

Seeing the JP/US piracy argument on here's made me realize that a lot of Japanese people unironically do believe that corporations and legal entities have nothing but their best interests at heart, and ngl it's made a lot of things start to make sense for me

Wow so true! Now if you don't mind me I will be going to my closest BOOKOFF to purchase a used copy of Tekken 6 that will not give anything back to the company or devs who actually made the game! Right? Oh wait, buying it from BOOKOFF means I bought it second hand right? Yucky! Doesn't that mean this game wasn't good enough for the original owner to keep? Oh no now I think the game must be bad because it was bought used and this has caused me to think lesser of the Tekken IP, the brand has now been devalued and I will not purchase future Tekken games as a result of used copies of the game being available... Bandai Namco will go out of business now... Oh hey what's all that Tekken doujin material that are being sold at comiket... surely Bandai Namco didn't sign off on allowing their characters to do "THAT", right? Does Bandai Namco really allow DLsite to sell pornographic material of their characters that infringe on the Tekken IP? What if someone decided to not purchase another Tekken game because they saw Nina and Anna getting their backs blown out in H doujin material and think the games are just lowly smut? Aren't YOU feeling remorse for Bandai Namco who have to put up their IP being devalued due to being associated with unofficial porn that is being sold for money featuring their Tekken characters? Oh sorry it's not Tekken it's "TEKK○N" right? Or is it "T*KKEN"? Oh wait it's "鉄○", wow such clever ways to get around not spelling "TEKKEN" or "鉄拳", copyright not infringed at all! Or are these officially sanctioned faps?

The difference is, that American media is available for consumption in Japan. You can watch MLB on TV in Japan, but you can't watch half of NPB outside of Japan Piracy, at it's root, is a service issue. Thankfully watching the Japan Series outside of Japan only requires a VPN

I saw a Japanese post talking about the pirated Tekken 6, and as a Japanese person myself I used to think the same as OP and was 100% against pirating any games. But the more you interact with overseas (ppl outside of Japan), and learn about their situation, the more I began having a better understanding of why it happens. Yeah, it's great if ppl didn't have to do that, but there needs to be a better option for ppl in other countries instead of just ignoring them

SEAF Support Tips Every Helldiver Should Know : -Heavy SEAF Presence adapts to the battle. If your squad is dominating, fewer SEAF appear. If Helldivers are overwhelmed or split up, many more SEAF reinforcements will arrive. -SEAF can attack enemy outposts and may help destroy optional objectives. -Green icons on the map show nearby SEAF allies. -A SEAF squad is always near the dive site at the start of the mission. -SEAF can hold off enemies and trigger enemy reinforcements, giving Helldivers more freedom to push objectives. Environmental Confusion works well with this. -They will try not to shoot Helldivers, and friendly fire is usually accidental. -You can command SEAF to follow or wait. Use Wait twice to release them from the order. -Splitting from your squad can spawn additional SEAF support on planets with Heavy SEAF Presence. -Pinged enemies and spawners become priority targets for SEAF troops.
