A child’s English proficiency does not indicate their intelligence.
Let’s position learners from what they CAN do and build from there.

I’ve been asking myself the same question especially as least of the recent Kentucky Teacher of the Year winners have left teaching the following year. both cases they had specific reasons and I don’t blame either of them for leaving the profession.
Proud of my department of education ⬇️

Do you think Matt Bevin was a good governor? If so, don’t vote for any of these Republican candidates.
Personally I think Bevin was awful and I am so thankful for Andy Beshear.
This ad is so extreme! Sheesh! I just can’t. There are lots of issues in education but this video doesn’t address any of them. Just scare tactics and an altered reality.

Good trouble in TN. ✊🏻
⚡️🔥 HAPPENING NOW: Democrats @brotherjones_ @Justinjpearson @VoteGloriaJ have taken over the well and disrupted session.
As a Kentuckian and a teacher, I am really enjoyed watching this video. I wish I could say the same things to Rep. Massie in person.
I want to take a minute to show my appreciation for Democrat Rep. Jamaal Bowman, who when approached by GOP Rep. Thomas Massie, stood strong and passionately up for the children who died this week in Nashville.
Bowman was a teacher in the Bronx and also founded a public middle school in the Bronx. Bowman was then a principal for a decade before running for Congress.
“Calm down? Children are dying. Nine year old children!” Rep. Jamaal Bowman shouted at Massie.
It's people like Bowman who we need leading us into the future.
Thank you Congressman!

.@ACLUofKY comment on the veto override of SB 150 ends:
"To all the trans youth who may be affected by this legislation: we stand by you, and we will not stop fighting. You are cherished. You are loved. You belong.
To the commonwealth: we will see you in court."

As an EL teacher not only do we work on language acquisition but also making the appropriate accommodations to make academic content accessible. This is an impossible task when schools do not cluster students nor provide coplanning time for the content & EL teacher together

Fake arguing with your coach to distract the defense before throwing a half-look pass for a reverse alley-oop to break a 92-92 tie in the final minute of OT in a Sweet 16 game at MSG might be the coolest shit I’ve ever seen
I would love to see more KY school superintendents release similar statements.
BTW, the first district I ever worked for as a teacher was Danville Independent. (I did my KTIP at Bate Middle back when KTIP was a requirement.)
See the following letter from our superintendent regarding Senate Bill 150.
