This is a bad list.
The Wire, True Detective S1, and The Bear are too low. Chapelle’s Show shouldn’t be behind Key and Peele. Broad City shouldn’t be above Insecure.
Mr. Robot isn’t even on the list.
But while it’s a bad list, it’s great rage bait.
Well done NY Times.
Widow’s Bay is one of the funniest shows I’ve seen in years.
And it swept the Emmy’s last night.
Highly recommend watching it if you haven’t seen it already.
I haven’t watched Futurama in a while but I use this meme at least once a week.
I’m going to CDMX in a few weeks. I’m staying in Roma Norte.
What shops, restaurants, and experiences would you recommend?
I have an increasing aversion to creators who don’t disclose using LLMs to create content.
I’m not broadly against. Many people are using it in ways I find inspiring (eg outsourcing admin).
But I feel duped when I get to the end of something & see “it’s not this, it’s that.”
Still figuring out why this is or if I’ve been memed into it, but I imagine it’s because I consume content for someone’s unique insight.
Or to feel some level of personal connection through a screen.
It’s like being catfished.
And if I just wanted to Google it, I would’ve.
The American education system makes learning synonymous with suffering.
Whole generations of kids were forced to analyze boring books instead of learning to love reading.
Discernment is becoming increasingly necessary.
Rage bait and AI slop are rampant.
You have to know where to direct your energy and attention.
I've been off Twitter for a few years.
The energy on the timeline shifted and I didn't like it.
Recently got back on.
Happy to discover that many familiar faces are still active and the old (supportive, positive, empowering, creative) energy is either back or emerging.
This is a stretch of highway between La Jolla and Carlsbad. I drove it for years, and it's one of the most scenic roads I've ever driven on.
Grateful for my time in San Diego.
I’m rewatching How to Make It in America on Max and I still don’t know how this show only lasted two seasons.
Still running.
Pace has picked up quite a bit.
(My heart rate here is a bit concerning though. I may want to get that looked at.)
I’m excited for the cooler weather here in Austin.
It’s great to be able to walk, run, or just be outside in the afternoon without busting a sweat the second I step outside.
I’ve taken some time away from running since ramping up my training.
Prioritizing recovery is no longer an option.
And I’ve learned that “recovery” means more than “doing nothing.”
It’s active, and I’ll need to prioritize it as much as working out.
When a woman puts this in her profile, it's a turn off.
It’s not to say I’m *healed* - not sure it’s a destination - or there’s not things I can't improve on, I’m just not sure therapy is always the best modality.
Right now, it isn’t for me though I am still working to grow.
