With the Sharks becoming good right before our eyes, and the rebuild ending soon, I think it’s time for a Daily Random Shark. This way we won’t forget where we came from, or who we had to endure.

Positives: Askarov played great and gave them a chance to win, Dickinson was feeling it…looked confident, Misa was solid and drove play for his line

Excited for my new game. Which young player does Warso blame for the loss. I’m gonna say Stenberg, but possible he goes with a “group needs to compete” deflection

This is the kind of thing that “Warso out” stems from. Yes Grier built this roster but good teams don’t lose on the margins Warso loses every deployment and margins battle. Mush has been bad for a long stretch. No Dick. These are the small things that good teams dont screw up
Marchment absolutely awful in that last 30 seconds. Just cannot execute a play. Been fighting it a lot lately.v Dickinson not out there to end the game... cannot even begin to describe the mismanagement we are seeing with crucial game situations by this team and coaching staff

Hey look, Macklin didn’t get a point and the sharks lose. But I was told this isn’t the nba and he doesn’t make that big of an impact 🤔

I think it’s pretty obvious that the Sharks 34 point improvement was a bit smoke and mirrors. The div was so bad and Mack had a 115 point season. The underlying numbers were bad. This year, Mack is slightly behind that pace but Asky has gone up a level, buoying the Sharks

They are still bottom of the league in almost every metric. That’s the issue with the coaching staff. Mack regresses, the team falls apart And the system the sharks play doesn’t fit a young team. It hinders their main attributes, not enhances them as they learn

25-26 should not have ignited a “we are a playoff team” mindset. This team is still bad, they just have a Macklin to carry them. That’s where the coaching frustration comes in. It’s the same every game with a line tinker as “trying to fix things”. The system is broken

Warso bought into the hype. He’s attempting to coach this team like they’re 3-4 years further in development than they really are. The young players need to be coached through their mistakes, not made to fear making them.

Uh, that first part is all you mate. “Working on buy in” is all the coach But also, Stenberg, Dick, Misa, Smith are all about to see ice time cut in favour of 4th liners lol
#SJSharks Warsofsky asked about team buy in being an issue still: “Yeah. We got to work on that.” He added this about sending a message: “Yeah, I think there is. I mean, look, you know, sometimes the best tool coach has is to take someone out, take away ice time. So we'll look at everything.”

*whispers* Playoff building Grier has done a bad job. Drafting high end players Grier was his strength and it’s been bad returns otherwise
I think Mike Grier should be focused on finding a new coach instead of trade talks…

We need to get a pointed direct question like “the fourth line has been out outchanced 0-13 at this point. Why deploy them when you need offence?” He’ll get all bitchy and annoyed but that’s what you get with a soft coach, so you just have to ask
Sharks facing a 5 on 3. But lets assess the situation. Down 4-1 Beginning of the period. You have your 4th line out there who cannot generate any chances, who have been out chanced 0-13 and they get forced into an odd man rushes that causes 2 penalties... inept coaching!

Dellandrea being put up to Misa wing while Sherwood is in the box is insane, when Stenberg exists. At some point you have to question what Warso obsession with low skill, bad 4th liners is

Martin St. Louis has shown in Montreal that you trust your young guys and lbuild a system around them playing their game. You don't try to impose a system which primarily focuses on changing their game.

How a team with Celebrini, 22 year old smith, 19 year old Misa, 18 year old Stenberg, Cherny, Dick, Asky can be this unexciting is a question you have to ask. They’ve gone from young guns building toward playoffs in a few years to completely stuck in the mud and look even worse
