Last year, I worked on designing custom levels, refining the crafting systems, building out cutscenes and tutorials for the first part of the game, and more.

Back in August, I hired a talented developer to help me speed through some of the game’s more technical features and mechanics. We made a ton of progress in four months, and I can’t wait to share more details with you early next year in Devlog #5. 🏕️🌨️

I started reworking the art direction to be more consistent with the original game's blocky style, minimalist style but in 3d.
The latest build of New Frontier has a revamped code base, meaning new items, animals, and features are a lot easier to add now. We've also been working on a new art style that captures the essence of the first game a bit more than our prototype did. youtu.be/gqkdezW78mU

The biggest story in the games industry the past year has been these IP acquisitions. I think it's a "battening down the hatches" for some major industry changes.

As games and traditional entertainment start to merge, I think there's going to be new competitors and new ways to reach people that are going to really shake things up.

And the segmented markets of "PC, Console, and Mobile" are about to get a lot fuzzier.
Thank you all for supporting the 🔥Rekindled Update this past year — 2021 was our second best year ever for "On My Own" (now almost 6 years old!), and it encouraged us to start creating a sequel, "On My Own: New Frontier". I’m looking forward to sharing more in 2022.

Hope you're having a great start to 2022 -- Happy New Year!
Our New Year’s resolution for 2022? Continuing to grow our game making skills and share more about "On My Own: New Frontier"! What are you wishing for this coming year?🤔 🖌Concept Art by Cody Qualley #newyearseve #gamedev
Worth noting too, I think this is the second game to launch on #Steam from a local Fargo game maker. A huge accomplishment for Erik, shipping a game ain't easy.
I've always longed for a "creative getaway" trip -- so we did it! It was fun spending a full week making stuff with these super creative game makers @RubenTipparach @CodyQualley #IndieGameDev
Went out to a remote lake cabin for some fresh air and inspiration earlier this month. We’re “building” something new—can you guess what it is?  New video update with all the details coming later this month!

This logo needed a refresh for multiple reasons😅
We've sold over 25,000 copies since then, and thanks to the fans, the game is *still* selling. 👀 Does this mean you all might want some more On My Own content? 😅 We can make that happen... 😎🤪
