Before NDP try to scare monger re healthcare cuts, important to note that per capita healthcare spending is similar. If you adjust to make it the same AB would still have a $5.3B surplus.
Alberta: smaller population, less spending, $8.3B surplus BC under the NDP: bigger population, more spending, $11B deficit Same country. Different leadership. David Eby’s broken model is failing British Columbians. #bcpoli

If you are the Eby govt, tell me you are desperate to change the channel without telling me. July re announcement of a tax change that was talked about extensively in Budget Mar 4 and has always had a Sept 1 implementation date.

This level of debt growth is simply not sustainable. Eby is collecting record levels of taxation yet still racking up record debt. Critical services like Health are worse than ever before, Eby has shown he can’t deliver regardless of how much tax money he throws at a problem.
B.C. Premier David Eby has overseen by far the fastest growth of per-person inflation-adjusted provincial government debt (annual average) over the 1969 to 2024 period. Learn more: fraserinstitute.org/studies/… #bcpoli

I’ll just leave this here. AB population 4.9 M. Govt spending $74B $8.3B surplus BC population 5.7 M. Govt spending $94B $11 B deficit That is all * per capita healthcare spending close to the same. If same AB would still have a $5.3B surplus

Yes, the stunning independence of @BCFerries from the @bcndp gov, w/ an authority board that includes: - The @bcndp's 2024 election campaign manager - The former NDP transportation minister in charge of ferries - Another former NDP MLA - The former BC Federation of Labour prez
BC Ferries independent of NDP government? When previous CEO Mark Collins angered NDP, government sent in former NDP cabinet minister Joy MacPhail who fired Collins at $1 million plus severance and replaced him with Nicolas Jimenez. That’s some independence.

When @icbabc and the Building Trades unions agree, that means 100% of the B.C. construction sector representatives oppose Eby’s Chinese ferry purchase.
The @bcndp-friendly BC Building Trades comes out swinging against @BCFerries deal with Chinese gov. "This decision, in this moment in Canada’s history, will forever be a stain on BC Ferries." Says it will help provide skilled labour to build locally if Ferries reverses.

And who still does not have even a MOU with Ontario? Eby and the BC NDP govt. Meanwhile Eby’s off to Asia while all the other Premiers meet with the Prime Minister. Interprovincial trade barriers have a 23% tariff equivalent drag to B.C. econ yet no big moves on this by Eby.
Today, I signed agreements with @PremierScottMoe , Premier @ABDanielleSmith and Premier @RobLantz to tear down internal trade barriers between Ontario and Saskatchewan, Alberta and P.E.I. It’s just the latest steps we’re taking to build a stronger, more competitive Canadian economy that can outlast President Trump’s tariffs and whatever else comes our way. The Premier didn’t cancel Michael Bryant’s contract because it was wrong.
He cancelled it because he got caught. Now he needs to come clean:
- How much was paid?
- Where’s the work? This isn’t over. #bcpoli

Over 3 months into a 6 month contract and nothing to show for it, no interim report, no public updates, just a lucrative ($300k+) sweetheart contract to a friend of David Eby with no deliverables attached.
The Premier’s idea of fixing the Downtown Eastside? Giving his friend Michael Bryant a contract worth up to $325K to tell him how bad things are. Everyone else already knows. The only one getting help is Eby’s friend. #bcpoli

Former BC Premier Gordon Campbell asks Canadians to vote for @PierrePoilievre and give the next generation a chance at prosperity
Former BC Liberal premier Gordon Campbell "Canada’s economy is in decline, per capita GDP is at the bottom of the OECD list. The flight of capital has reduced opportunity and hopes for the young in every region. The massive Liberal debt build up will not be paid for a generation. Health care we had will be a distant memory for our children. Carney wants to borrow more. If this continues, we strip our children of their future. Mr. Carney and the Liberal plan reinforces the status quo, stifles our resource sector, borrows more, spends more, taxes more, and increases the debt our children and grandchildren will have to pay. It means a rising cost of living and stagnant paychecks. It damages Canada’s economic future and divides our country. Their policies undermine Canada as one country. Policies that divide hold Canada back. Forget Trump! Vote for Canada. Vote for its future. Vote for the next generation and for a Canada ready to take on the future, independent and free to pursue Canadian dreams"
