The corruption in Los Angeles is INSANE
2 nonprofits that were behind pushing the new speed cameras all over LA are both partnered AND FUNDED by the company who got the contract to install the new speed cameras
The 2 nonprofits that were pushing the legislation for the new speed cameras, Assembly Bill 645, were ‘SAFE and Walk San Francisco!’
The contract for installing the cameras in 6 Los Angeles cities went to a company called Verra Mobility
Verra Mobility got the contact to install the cameras in all 6 cities
It’s not about speed cameras for safe streets, it’s about a company working with nonprofits to get legislation passed so they can all get rich
It paid off big time, the contract for these cameras to Verra is roughly $56,265,000 from taxpayers

The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority is headquartered in a luxury high rise building where employees enjoy VIP amenities like a fitness center, rock climbing wall, an infrared sauna, a cold plunge and a helipad
Democrats are getting filthy rich and living a life of luxury off the necessary suffering of the homeless
Ohh speaking of salaries, I looked up how much LAHSA employees are getting paid
- Chief Executive Officer, Va Lecia Adams Kellum, $491,908
- Chief Financial Officer, Janine Trejo, $299,912
- Deputy Chief, Systems, Nathaniel VerGow, $257,196
- Chief of Staff, Rachel Johnson, $252,079
- Chief Operating Officer, Tifara Monroe, $248,367

No one with access to all these amenities and all making well over $220,000+ dollars per year is going to work to end homelessness, they’re going to work to make sure homelessness get worse and worse for job security and to make more money

Starting today, LA County ties for the highest baseline county sales tax rate in the entire United States at 10.25%. Lancaster and Palmdale, where many of my friends and people I know already struggle to make ends meet, sales tax is now 11.75% - the highest in the state.
I still just don’t understand how we keep voting to continuously give more & more money to our local government while services continue to get worse, our politicians continue to give more of our money to their friends, and fraud goes unchecked.
How does this actually help everyday Angelenos who have both mom and dad working and sometimes it’s not even enough to support their families?
This is not helping our kids. It’s not making schools better. It’s not making roads better or helping with public transit. It’s not making us safer. It’s not making housing more affordable, or food, or gas or utilities. Why do we keep voting for more and more tax increases and worse and worse politicians?

A Southern California nonprofit that runs domestic violence shelters has paid its CEO, who RESIDES IN HAWAII, more than $1.6 million in taxpayer money as salary and vacation over the past 2 years.
The nonprofit brings in approximately $15 million in revenue (“nearly all of it taxpayer money from government grants”) to run crisis hotlines, domestic violence shelters, and programs to help the homeless. It runs 16 facilities in LA and OC.
The CEO has resided in Hawaii the LAST 11 YEARS.
Organizations that help victims escape their abusers are incredibly important and I support them 💯. However, the overwhelming majority of my child abuse, sexual abuse and DV victims live very close to the poverty line. How many more women and their children could be housed and protected from their abusers with 3/4’s of this CEO’s salary and vacation? Why are millions of dollars from taxpayer grants going to CEO’s pockets instead of the actual victims the money is meant to serve? How can someone manage homeless shelters in LA for DV victims while living in Hawaii? Where are the City and County politicians? Why aren’t they making sure our money is being used properly?
A L.A.-based nonprofit funded almost entirely by govt contracts paid its CEO more than $800,000 in unused vacation time, bumping her compensation for 2 years to nearly a million a year.
A former IRS division chief called this amount "stunningly large." latimes.com/california/story…

From the UK to New York City, a certain kind of liberalism is losing energy, confidence and connection to the people it claims to represent.
The way forward for liberalism is not to abandon it. It is to recover its radical spirit.

“The reason is because the California legislators somehow feel like they don't want to have a refinery in California … So now you have to go and ship all the oil to Texas, do the refining, and then you go and ship it back again. Well, what happens when you ship it? That creates pollution! So it is absolutely contradictory to what they believe in.”
