The Boot was just awarded a three-year, $6.5 million Rapid Reskill Dislocated Worker Grant from @USDOL.
This money will go toward recruiting, training, and place transitioning service members, veterans, and military families across Louisiana.

As Governor I have worked to responsibly and ethically, clean up the litigation environment that has impacted one of our largest employers—the oil and gas industry. This is just another step in fulfilling my promise.
We have tackled legacy lawsuits, which many said was impossible. We have now disposed of claims and settled with all but one of the major defendants in these coastal cases. Louisiana secures $5.81 million for critical rail upgrades!
The federal grant, paired with $2.49 million from rail operator CPKC, will help replace five aging rail bridges between Baton Rouge and New Orleans. The project is expected to improve freight safety and reliability, reduce maintenance costs and prepare the corridor for future passenger rail service.

Louisiana continues to lead the way in American energy production. Three LNG projects in Cameron and Plaquemines parishes are pursuing major expansions as global demand for reliable American natural gas grows.
The first export of LNG from the U.S. came in 2016 from Cheniere Energy’s Sabine Pass Liquefaction Terminal located in Cameron Parish and since then America's LNG industry has grown into a $44 billion annual export business with Louisiana at the center of it.
