In response to the ongoing heavy rains, County public works personnel are conducting a routine partial release of the Tujunga Dam to prevent the potential for flooding in the surrounding area. This is a standard process which has been conducted in the past. Residents in the Riverwood neighborhood are being notified of this necessary action in person and the LAPD has issued a mandatory evacuation order. Residents should use Conover Fire Road to evacuate. LAPD and LAFD will remain on scene to respond as needed and out of an abundance of caution. We will continue closely monitoring this process and coordinating with the County. All Angelenos should stay ready and stay up to date by signing up for notifications at NotifyLA.com
