.@LCMSMAF Asst Director Chaplain Steven Hokana shares practical lessons for caring for those living with mental illness this week at the @ConcordiaSem 2026 Theological Symposium on Ministry in Mental Health. Find resources for this topic on our website.
At this morning’s coffee hour, Deaconess Carolyn Brinkley, Military Project coordinator, invited the CTSFW community to sign cards that will be sent to chaplains and other military personnel in an October care package. The Military Project supports those in the military and their families through prayer, encouragement, and care packages that include items to meet both physical and spiritual needs. #ctsfw

On this 25th anniversary of 9/11 we remember our leaders, first responders, military and the victims of that tragic 2001 day. We thank God for His steadfast protection in the years since and pray that He would grant peace to the USA and throughout the world.

Our seminary community was blessed today by Dr. Steven Hokana of LCMS Ministry to the Armed Forces, who preached during our service commemorating the 25th anniversary of Sept. 11.
Drawing from Ecclesiastes 3, Hokana reminded us that there is “a time for everything,” including times of sorrow, mourning and remembrance. He also recognized the graduates of Concordia Seminary who, in the aftermath of the attacks, shepherded people through unimaginable suffering at Ground Zero and the Pentagon. He remembered, too, those graduates who gave the ultimate sacrifice while serving in war.
These are men of faith who can be sent into horrible, sad and tragic situations and provide pastoral care, serving as undershepherds of Christ when His people need them most.
We concluded the service singing “O God of Love, O King of Peace” (Lutheran Service Book 751), a fitting hymn for a day of remembrance.

Fort Wayne's @CLHSCadets and Concordia Lutheran School dedicated memorial benches to two alumni who made the ultimate sacrifice. A ceremony was held at the Veterans National Memorial Shrine and Museum in Fort Wayne to unveil these benches for CLHS 1998 alum, SSG Kevin M. Pape, and CLHS 1999 alum, 1st Lieutenant Neale M. Shank.
