More than 40 years ago, I arrived in Chicago in search of an idea. I was a young man looking for purpose, who believed deeply in America, was inspired by the Civil Rights Movement, and wanted to be a part of something larger. This is the repugnant character of a man who has spent his entire life expecting others to clean up his mess. A person completely incapable of taking responsibility—even for the smallest gesture.
This is precisely what makes him so dangerous and unsuitable as president: Someone who treats everything like dirt and expects his subordinates to clean up after him will treat a country the same way. What the Artemis II astronauts did over the last 10 days was a testament to their bravery. And the fact that they traveled farther from Earth than anyone ever has, re-entered our atmosphere at more than 24,000 mph, and splashed down safely was a testament to human ingenuity.
