I love episodes like The Girl Who Waited where we can really see how dark The Doctor is and how far he is willing to go for certain people. His face as he lies to Rory and future Amy sickens me. The Doctor is a hero but hes also an incredibly complex and well written character.

One idea I just had for a Doctor Who film is an animated short about 11's life and final days on Trenzalore but in the art style of "The Snowman" with no dialogue and a Howard Blake style score. But then that would probably be too heartbreaking for the fans, lol.

Every single Matt Smith episode got higher than that. It took until Capaldi’s second series to reach an episode that got lower than 6.32.
So I don’t see why Smith and Capaldi episodes wouldn’t be popular enough for a screening.
