@GregOnLock and @llm_wizard are on ๐ค at the @TMLS_TO
And this time, they're talking all about RAG, Agents, and MCP as they cover the 2025 best-practice stacks from prototype to production in a two-part workshop.
๐ฏ In Part 1, they introduced the Best-Practice RAG Stackโfeaturing LangChainโs LangGraph, Qdrant, Cohereโs Rerank, and Ragasโand walked through how to build and baseline a minimum viable RAG app with open-source tools.
๐ฏ In Part 2, they tackled the real challenge: scaling into production. From stakeholder alignment to cloud vs. air-gapped deployments, they broke down each phase of operationalizing RAG, complete with real enterprise case studies and live demos.

Evaluated a set of advanced Langchain RAG retrieval techniques in an @AIMakerspace session, namely:
1. BM25,
2. Naive,
3. Contextual Compression,
4. Parent Document,
5. Ensemble,
6. Multi-Query and
7. Semantic Chunking.
Evaluations were done on RAGA metrics and Langsmith traces.
Key Takeaways:
๐ก Trade-offs are evident: No single retriever excels in all metrics, highlighting the importance of choosing based on specific needs.
๐ก Ensemble shows power of combination: By combining multiple retrievers, the Ensemble approach achieves the best overall performance, particularly in context recall and faithfulness.
๐ก Relevancy vs. Recall: Parent Document Retriever demonstrates that high answer relevancy can be achieved even with lower context recall.
๐กLatency and Token considerations: LangSmith traces suggest Parent Document to be optimal for Token Usage and latency while Ensemble, Multi-Query and Naive were the worst performing. #RAGAS, #Langsmith, #AIMakerspace, #RAG

2025 is here, and if thereโs one thing we learned in 2024, itโs this: real-time AI isnโt optional anymore.
Last year, we wrote about ๐๐ฆ๐ต๐ณ๐ช๐ฆ๐ท๐ข๐ญ ๐๐ถ๐จ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ต๐ฆ๐ฅ ๐๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ข๐ต๐ช๐ฐ๐ฏ (๐๐๐) and how itโs reshaping AI systems. Even now, we believe our blog remains incredibly relevant.
RAG is about solving a problem weโve all faced: How do you make sure your AI has access to the most ๐ถ๐ฑ-๐ต๐ฐ-๐ฅ๐ข๐ต๐ฆ ๐ช๐ฏ๐ง๐ฐ๐ณ๐ฎ๐ข๐ต๐ช๐ฐ๐ฏ? The answer:
โ You retrieve the latest data from a live database.
โ You let AI generate answers that are accurate and grounded in that data.
โ And you make it all work in real-time with tools like Bytewax. ๐
This blog digs into the details of building scalable, real-time AI workflows.

At Bytewax, weโre on a mission to empower Python engineering teams to solve complex real-time challenges and deploy robust data pipelinesโfast.
Few of our customers exemplify this better than @RangeEnergy.
With a lean engineering teamโoperating without dedicated data scientists or data engineersโRange uses Bytewax and the Python ecosystem to build, test, and deploy complex real-time data pipelines with remarkable speed.
Using Bytewax, Range Energy integrates specialized Python libraries like Shapely to match trailer GPS data with predefined route segments in real timeโa task that SQL-based stream processors struggle to achieve. This capability allows Range to compare telematics data to predefined routes, evaluating trailer performance and configuration. Each segment becomes a real-world experiment, offering valuable insights to accelerate vehicle development.
Bytewax plays a central role in Range Energy's real-time architecture. With the Bytewax Platform, they effectively manage and monitor a growing number of real-time dataflows, ensuring scalability and reliability.

โ๏ธ Used Haystack to implement embedding-based retrieval for fast and accurate results.
โ๏ธ Leveraged FastAPI to design responsive, queryable endpoints that ensure low latency under heavy workloads.
