Crazy aging population stats from the ONS today: There were an estimated 645,000 people aged 90+ in the UK in mid-2025, a 55.2% increase since mid-2005 (416,000 people). There were 16,400 centenarians in 2025, up 3.5% since 2024 and +89.8% since 2005 (8,700 centenarians).

Resilient old ladies: There were 760 people aged 105 years and over in the UK in 2025, an increase of nearly a third since mid-2024 (from 570) as the large generation born immediately after World War One (1919-1920) reach this age. Women made up 88.8% of this age group in 2025.
