Whoever puts a café / smoothie shop on the same block as my physical therapist, I will singlehandedly make you rich

If your politic isn't rooted in care for the oppressed, I don't want it.

February is definitely doing its thing 🥶 Winter hats (sizes newborn to adult extra-large) are stocked in the Blessing Box at St. James on Calumet and Oakland Park. Thank you to everyone who pitched in with yarn donations! 🖤

The benefit is that you made the world suck a little bit less. That’s it, that’s the point.
Unfortunately there are no benefits to being a good person

In my head, the left is vermillion and the right is chartreuse, and no one will ever convince me otherwise.
Replying to @ADHDForReal
This is how I feel about chartreuse being a shade of green. Should be red. They should switch vermillion and chartreuse

Yes. See, in order to make it to adulthood (where you might deem a “living wage” more acceptable), I first had to survive being a teenager. Funny thing how linear time works.
Replying to @Kaimandante
Do you feel you deserved a “living wage” at age 16? 17? 18?

When I worked in retail, a customer went on a rant about how it should be a minimum wage “teenager job”. I said, “ma’am, it’s 11-AM on a Tuesday. If they only hired teenagers, we’d be closed and you wouldn’t be here.” She didn’t get it. The cognitive dissonance is unreal 🙃

The biggest problem with teaching Shakespeare is that it’s introduced in the wrong context. It was never intended to be read silently to yourself- it’s theatre. 🧵
I’m a former English major, and I strongly disagree. Shakespeare is inaccessible and alienating to the vast majority of children and, frankly, to many adults. Lit teachers have a romantic attachment to it that’s deeply detrimental to the learning of contemporary students.

Modern masterpiece. Much Ado About Nothing with Denzel, Keanu, et al?? Flawless. Gimme all of it.) And pro theatre companies- FILM YOUR GODDAMN STAGE SHOWS. Hamilton but make it Hamlet, k? I promise, the world outside of NYC and London is ready and waiting to stream it.

We need it. Students need it. I, personally, need it. /tangent TLDR: Shakespeare only sucks when you’re trying to teach a play like it’s a novel.

Thank you for this question, it’s been a minute since something’s actually made me want to write. 🖤
You have the mic. What does grief feel like?

I can physically feel my inner 10 year old awakening right now.
Last winter, I was hit with a visceral vision that would launch me into an aesthetic obsession and posting tone for the entire year. I could not shake it, and at the time, could not name it . Here is the story of my journey with the spirit of Late Stage New Age 2k ……
