An assay developed by @SheffLabMed’s Virology team, diagnosing the current circulating strain of Monkeypox here in the UK, has now been approved for local use. This is great news for Sheffield and the region, reducing turnaround times and benefiting patients and local services.

This week @SheffLabMed’s hard working COVID-19 staff swabbing team have passed 40,000 visits to the drive-through swab site. This has enabled rapid results for @SheffieldHosp staff to ensure the safety of our patients and to protect Trust services. Amazing job team 👏🏻
