Agree, tax strategy is key to driving in and keeping businesses here. Eliminate the estate-tax major move to keep wealth here and drive in econmic growth.
Rhode Island needs to compete for growing companies and good jobs.
The high-cost Boston/Cambridge market presents an opportunity. We don't need a home run - one company that brings thousands of jobs. Let's hit doubles: target growing, well-capitalized companies with 300–400 employees looking for a stable, cost-effective place to expand.
Land five, and that's roughly 2,000 jobs in our urban core, plus the economic activity they create.
To compete, Rhode Island needs competitive costs, site-ready zoning, municipal incentives, and tax stability.
That also means we need to examine our tax structure.
Rhode Island's 2026 estate-tax threshold is only $1.84 million versus $15 million federally. Let's raise our threshold to the federal level and examine eliminating the tax altogether.
I also oppose the new millionaires tax. High earners can choose where they establish residency, and Rhode Island should consider how that tax would affect investment, economic activity, and the tax base.
I want Rhode Island to be the place in New England where companies grow, entrepreneurs invest, workers earn great wages, and families stay.
Economic growth doesn't just happen. We compete for it.

US DOJ is monitoring polling stations in Pawtucket... Part of their national Election Monitoring program where they "have visited 11 states and hundreds of polling locations."
DOJ sent 4 members from the Civil Rights Division’s Voting Section and the Rhode Island USAO to various polling sites throughout the city of Pawtucket.
