Low back injury risk in deadlifting is not explained by spinal posture alone. A more precise framework integrates load management, movement variability, dynamic trunk control, and individual adaptation. doi.org/10.3390/sports140401… – at Makkah Al Mukarrama, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

🪑A simple chair test can say a lot about lower-body function A pooled analysis of 45,470 adults aged 50+ from 14 European countries provides age- and sex-specific reference values for the 5x sit-to-stand test, showing slower times with advancing age 👵 pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/4087…

This meta-analysis finds that, as resistance training volume (weekly sets) increases, both muscle hypertrophy and strength gains tend to increase, with stronger diminishing returns for strength gains, and as frequency (sessions per week) increases, there is a negligible effect for muscle hypertrophy but a meaningful effect with diminishing returns for strength gains.

GLP agonists are massive game changers in many conditions beyond obesity. It seems now that they provide favorable benefits in many autoimmune diseases including osteoarthritis. The effects include direct and indirect inflammatory effects, protective cartilage effects in OA and much more. This review summarizes the research in these areas. To say there is much potential to untangle in this drug category is an understatement. I am also confident they are going to play a massive role in mitigating global chronic pain burden. #neuroscience #pain #ChronicPain
