2022 wird wohl das wärmste Jahr seit 1864 in der Schweiz. Das Jahresmittel dürfte am Ende 1,2-1,7 °C über der Norm 1991-2020 liegen. Damit 2022 noch unter das #Rekordjahr 2018 (+1,07 °C zur Norm) fällt, müsste der #Dezember 5,4 °C unter der Norm oder unter den 5 kältesten sein.
ALT Abweichung des Jahresmittels von der Norm 1991-2020 für die Schweiz seit Messbeginn 1864. Die Farbgebung für das Jahr 2022 gilt für den Zeitraum Januar-Oktober.

As the latest @UNEP Emissions Gap report makes clear, we are headed for economy-destroying levels of global heating.
We need #ClimateAction on all fronts – and we need it now.
We must close the emissions gap before catastrophe closes in on us all.

This summer, swiss glaciers lost about 3x as much as they did on average in past years and scientists are forced to end measurements completely or reduce measurement points.
The Alps' glaciers are on track for their highest mass losses in at least 60 years.

The bitter end of our #glacier mass balance monitoring programme at Vadret dal Corvatsch today. Extreme melting has sealed our decision to stop the surveys.
Recent changes are just incredible! In the background ice crest >3000 year-old ice had been found. Now it's almost gone.
At the same time, our Government & @UVEK_DETEC is planning to build new gas powerplants to compensate for their incompetence and hesitation in building renewable energy sources in past years.
These gas plants will be exempt from the 120.-/t CO2-tax, because why the fuck not...
