Replying to @LancasterSU
@LancasterSU have placed a blanket ban on our student groups from using GLOW nightclub. GLOW have demonstrated they do not align with our values. Any society, JCR or club working with them will be disaffiliated immediately. Our priority is our students welfare. @LUSUSocieties

Replying to @nusuk
@nusuk has committed to having a independent investigation into antisemitism. The NUS said it will be ‘reviewing a wider culture of antisemitism, Lowkey booking and the President Elects comments’.It also goes on to say that people will be able to feed into the investigation 1/2

And that they will consult with @UJS_UK when deciding who is leading the investigation. This is a positive outcome from the board. I look forward to being asked, and sharing my views, as a Jewish Sabb officer and NSC member. 2/2

I JUST GOT ELECTED TO THE NSC👏🏽 The fact that 2 Jewish students just got elected to the NSC at this critical moment is HUGE! I hope @nusuk are ready for us 💪🏼💪🏼

Would really encourage any other SU sabb officer, student at Lancaster or student at ANY university to sign this letter.

Over 500 (and growing) Jewish students and allies have signed a letter to @nusuk and @nusconnect Board expressing their concern over comments made by the NUS president-elect and failings of NUS. Jewish students are raising their voices. It’s time to act! forms.gle/d7Y6C6UAHEP1CTLY8

Lancaster University Student Union warns: “antisemitism is a major issue within the student movement, and we need serious action to stamp it out." jewishnews.co.uk/nus-culture…

NUS culture of ‘fear and anxiety’ pushing Jewish students away

Warning comes as former Labour MP Lord Mann urges Boris Johnson to refuse to recognise NUS as “legitimate voice of students” if it does not cease its “poor treatment of Jewish students”.

Our amazing @ciarasowerby speaking on stage about how undemocratic @nusuk conference has been this year. Genuinely disgusted (along with all of the Lancaster delegation) at the way NUS has done policy and elections for voluntary roles. #NatCon22 #nusconf22

Staff, students and the officers of the SU are coming together to protest Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The current aggression is dangerous and unacceptable, and we refuse to remain silent. Please join us today on campus in Alex square at 4 pm.
