I have to get this off my chest before heading into the new year but folks, I am sick to death of antis. I’m tired of watching them use the language & rhetoric of social justice and hiding behind moral righteousness to behave like bullies, often just to score points in ship wars.
Hey, so quick political science lesson—because everybody is interested in electoral democracy this week: it is not necessary for the losing politician in an election to “concede” the race for the person who got the most votes to be declared the winner.
Concession as we understand it in modern (and at least American) politics is primarily political theater. It is a symbolic gesture, i.e. the performative display of the peaceful transition of power. But it is not required, and refusal to do it has no practical or legal effect.
Everyone really did just say they were sick of the Republicans’ shit. Even the Mines came into it!!!

Let’s be clear. Chuck Schumer gave Haley Stevens $10m because of her devout love for Israel. He gave Angie Nixon zero because of her opposition to genocide. Haley lost to Abdul (twice!) Angie lost by 238k votes. His selfish, incompetent and treacherous actions cost us a Senate seat.

Not to be dramatic, but the fact that the provisional affidavit ballots are skewing so heavily for Scott Colom is another heartbreaking reminder of the deep racist institutional rot in Mississippi
Someone else might have also been able to successfully challenge her but whew. Baybee! Could’ve just let that man have his lifetime federal appointment and she’d still have her job come January.
She’ll learn nothing from this, but yo, it has been fun to watch.
God dont like ugly! Hyde-Smith refused to return her Senate blue slip, a procedural approval traditionally needed for judicial nominees.
Without her approval, Colom's nomination never advanced to a confirmation hearing.
Hyde-Smith later openly stated: "He thought he was going to be a federal judge, and I blocked him."
Now he has her Job!
I don’t valorize politicians, but this answer was masterful. Clear, precise, and unequivocal. Most MSM are so used to someone getting discombobulated by a “gotcha” type question that they don’t know what to do when someone clocks and cuts through the bullshit.
I've been in politics for a quarter century. It's hard to express how staggering it is to see a conversation like this on corporate US media. The Morning Joe panel gobsmacked by the directness of @AbdulElSayed's points.
