I think that was one of the most impressive Leader's speeches I've seen in all the Labour conferences I've attended since 1991. The delivery was superb, there was immense courage in setting out answers to the biggest problems facing the country, and the public will have seen a PM who is a true patriot who wants a better Britain.

Few questions have been raised about my record on the NEC, so here are just a few of the things I've worked on over the past four years:
➡️ Oversaw two cohorts of the Bernie Grant Programme, helping train 60 Black activists.
➡️ Interviewed more than 300 parliamentary and local government candidates, many of whom are now councillors, mayors and MPs.
➡️ Voted to implement the EHRC recommendations to root out antisemitism from the Labour Party.
➡️ Broadened the terms of reference of the NEC Equalities Committee so that class and socio-economic background are given greater consideration alongside protected characteristics.
➡️ Worked to revive BAME Labour, with more to say on that soon.
➡️ Currently supporting disabled members to secure a free shuttle bus service around Liverpool during Labour Conference.
Will everyone agree with every decision I've made? Of course not. That's the nature of serving on the NEC. But I've always tried to act in what I believe is the best interests of the Labour Party and its members.
