Two Tavistock whistleblowers warned about its gender clinic long before it closed.
Now they are raising the alarm about the draft Conversion Practices Bill.
Watch therapists Marcus and Susan Evans explain why it poses serious risks to children, parents and families.

This is quite informatively wrong. First, the main claim is just false. No one *has to decide* if they 'love' or 'hate' Hilary Cass. Why think that one does? Why do we have to *hate* or *love* particular people involved in this policy argument, rather than disagree or agree with them? But the assumption made by the poster is obviously operating. *He* likes to denounce people as hateful bigots. There seems to be quite of lot of hating going - hating and demands for hate - on but we don't have to adopt those standards.
(Boringly, I agree with Cass about closing the Tavistock, disagree with her about the puberty blockers trial, and agree with her about Sam Hall. There you go)

You hateful bigots really have to decided if you love or hate Cass...

The ingredients for a safeguarding and medical scandal:
A group who are ideologically committed to a treatment model irrespective of the evidence
+
A climate of fear in which concerns are not just dismissed but attract accusations of transphobia
+
Institutions & individuals focused on protecting their own reputation rather than admitting to mistakes
Cases such as GIDS and now WellBN will continue to occur until these issues are addressed. And the problems in gender medicine extend far beyond paediatric services: adults deserve safe and effective care just as much as children.
🚨Hilary Cass has called for an independent inquiry into how Brighton GPs were allowed to prescribe cross-sex hormones to children as young as 12.“There urgently needs to be an investigation of why every system that should have protected children, young people, and indeed young adults has failed,” she told me.
The employment tribunal between Dr Sarah Redvers and NHS Sussex has highlighted how regulators and the NHS collectively failed to stop prescribing of puberty blockers and hormones against national guidelines - for years - and how instead the person raising concerns was accused of transphobia and herself investigated.
Dr Redvers sat down with me for her only newspaper interview about her treatment in a scandal which, Cass now says, “dwarfs” that of the Tavistock’s GIDS.

🚨THIS is what @10DowningStreet @DHSCgovuk should be prioritising - a public inquiry to pull the #NHS back from its near total capture by gender ideology.
❌ NOT introducing amateur & unnecessary #ConversionPractices criminal legislation which will only reinforce that capture.
“There urgently needs to be an investigation of why every system that should have protected children, young people, & indeed young adults has failed,” Baroness Hilary Cass told The Sunday Times".
@UKLabour eventually caught up that we were right about Self-ID being incompatible with single-sex provision, the scandal at GIDS etc.
It will possibly catch up soon that we're also right about the harms of the CP Ban Bill & the need to tackle transactivist/Stonewall ideological capture of the NHS, govt & public bodies...
But hell's teeth, it's hard work...

In its draft Conversion Practices Bill the UK Government is shooting at the wrong target. It needs to be focusing on organisations pushing social transition and Gender Affirmative Care; not the parents or therapists using an evidence-based Watchful Waiting approach, an approach which looks holistically at the needs of the child.

This desire to push unevidenced treatments onto children demonstrates perhaps clearer than anything else that GAC is an ideological intervention rather than evidence led. Its intention has always been to convert children to believe they have a gender identity; one which is independent of their physical body.

Gender Affirmative Care is a Conversion Practice
When social transition was pushed from 2010 onwards as the first step in Gender Affirmative Care (GAC) it was done with NO supporting evidence. Even the Dutch researchers who had earlier trialed the use of puberty blockers originally had cautioned against this practice as they insisted most children would desist as they matured.

NHS England accepted that Dr Sam Hall had "no formal training in gender-identity medicine" but argued that he'd "acquired expertise informally through self-study, experience" and "from talking with other gender specialists."
This is what NHSE "accepts" for the treatment of vulnerable children. These children weren't being treated for colds.
They were being given life-changing blockers and hormones for feelings that hadn't been explored.
Cass is right. This goes much deeper than just one clinic. Full independent inquiry is needed now.
Excellent reporting as always from @hannahsbee.

It’s great for you that as a gay man you don’t feel under threat. Try being a lesbian and using a ‘lesbian’ dating app or going to a ‘lesbian’ bar that’s full of weird, unpleasant straight men insisting they are lesbians too.
