In 1994, South Africa first democratically elected govt inherited a country labeled the most unequal on earth due to discriminatory laws that treated black ppl as sub-human and severe economic sanctions imposed by the same western nations that sponsored apartheid.

There may not be anywhere to watch live Premier League football in Manchester next year
Licha's got the ouija board out... 👻🔮 trying to summon a Man Utd board member to throw under the bus... 🐍 😂
He doesn't wanna say in court: People shouldn't take me seriously. I'm just a troll to get a reaction out of people
Fucking hell... We gonna bowl them out long before tea... 😅😅😅 #SAvAUS
Green was the Aussies' last line of resistance. All but done here in Cape Town.. #SAvAus
SA done it and the Aussies. The nerve our boys showed in the last two tests was just spectacular... #ProteasFIRE #SAvsAUS
These Manutd players can play. We saw that last season. The question was whether they could sustain it across multiple competitions. Instead, someone in tht dressing room threw their toys out the pram and the rest followed suit

🚨🇵🇱 Disgraceful scenes involving 16-year-old PSV Eindhoven youngster Essam Abdelhamid, who was subjected to racist abuse after scoring a stunning free-kick for Poland's U16s. 😡
Instead of celebrating his goal, some supporters targeted him with racist comments on social media, even questioning his right to represent Poland because of his skin colour.
Born in Belgium and eligible to represent Poland, Belgium and Egypt, Abdelhamid has now decided to switch his international allegiance to Belgium, who have called him up to their U16 squad. 🇧🇪
A young footballer representing his country and scoring a brilliant goal should be a moment of pride, not a reason to receive racist abuse.
Absolutely shameful. ❤️
This doos called GotG an "anti christian organisation"
Woke Liberalism is an illness. Imagine accusing all white South Africans of being racist just because her parents might have been, and that rubbed off on her.
@dailymaverick, this is why your credibility is at the lowest level it has ever been.
People can have their fun at Aston Villa's expense, but let's not forget that Jamie Carragher is the very definition of someone who can dish it out but can't take it
Obviously, some will see this as OTT. But there's a difference between being provocative and being insightful. Some pundits have spent years blurring that line, even often outright bigotry masquerading as fearless commentary. So let Jamie explain that in court...
Rickelton deserves credit for the fight he showed. Dug deep, kept SA in the game and grind his way to another 100. But that was such a brain fart to throw his wkt away... #SAvAUS
Funny how a couple of Chinese companies withdrawing their endorsement is an example of China's ruthlessness but the US bombing Iranian school children and then preventing their National team from staying in the US during the World Cup isn't.
This is how the regime change narrative starts. The US-backed puppy loses, runs to the US, declares himself the legitimate leader by pushing the stolen election story. Suddenly, Washington has a democracy crisis to solve, either by killing or kidnapping the elected leader
The DA have no real plan beyond turning the WC into a police state. More police on the streets, greater powers to enter anyones homes, surveillance cameras everywhere, checkpoints and drones. No actual plan beyond controlling ppls movements, watching our every step

Imagine spending 66 years under an embargo imposed by a country 90 miles away that has tried to assassinate your head of state over 600 times.
And then being lectured by that country about democracy.
Cuba has survived this.
Cuba is still there.
The lecture continues.
The Castro regime has profited at the expense of the Cuban people with luxury cars, expensive watches and a private island resort. As I shared this with the world, regime thugs rushed the stage to interrupt my speech.
They can intimidate their own people in Cuba but think again about trying that nonsense in the United States of America.

Cuba has a higher literacy rate than the United States.
It has a longer life expectancy than many countries far wealthier than it.
It produced a medical system capable of sending doctors to dozens of countries, including some that sanctioned it.
It did all of this under 66 years of economic blockade.
Now imagine what it might have built without the blockade.
The people who imposed the blockade have imagined this too.
That is why the blockade continued for 66 years.
Not because Cuba was failing.
Because Cuba was, in specific and inconvenient ways, succeeding.
And a Cuba that succeeded under its own system was more dangerous to the argument than a Cuba that failed.
The blockade was not punishment for failure.
It was prevention of success.
