I stood up in Parliament today and criticised this decision because it’s wrong. Let’s be clear, compensating WASPI women for their state pension is justice. It’s correcting a failure of government that left millions of women blindsided. #WASPI #waspiwomen

The 1915 Glasgow rent strike led by Mary Barbour played a vital role in the introduction of the Rent Restriction Act - the first legislation in Britain to cap rents.
We need more of that legislation today. Rents are skyrocketing and are as unaffordable as they have ever been.

a history our🌹movement can be proud of! I am currently writing about Mary Barbour and her involvement in the Socialist Sunday School movement - she fought for free school milk, children’s playgrounds, municipal wash-houses, an end to slum housing & much more...✊

UK and Scot Gov now have Unite's plan for the future of Grangemouth refinery. A green plan and a real just transition for the site. Yesterday Grangemouth reps had positive discussions with MSPs from all parties in and @UniteSharon meets UK Gov next week. It's not too late!

In a capitalist economy there will always be companies which seek profit from war.
Greed trumping basic human solidarity.

We're in Edinburgh marching to save Scotland's last oil refinery.
This is an act of industrial vandalism. #Grangemouth is essential to the success of the Scottish economy and politicians from all parties need to focus on finding a viable solution.
