Hugely looking forward to tomorrow’s @vac_conference; I’ll be giving @alva_uk ‘state of the nation’ presentation in the morning, referencing the ineffectual VAT cut this Summer, the weather, the overnight visitor levy, the cost of living, changing visitor preferences & optimism!

This Black History Month, we’re Honouring Our Communities. Celebrating the people, stories, leadership, creativity and contributions that continue to shape and strengthen our communities.
Black history is not only about reflecting on the past, but also recognising the impact being made today and looking to the future with pride, ambition and hope.

Scams affect hundreds of millions of people worldwide every year. On behalf of the UK Government, I have signed an agreement with Cambodia which will strengthen our work to dismantle scam centres and stop these criminals profiting from misery.

Defence is serious. We don’t need gimmicks…but that’s what the Tories have given us today.

Our future with Europe deserves ambition.
EU Ambassador Jukka Salovaara’s words are a welcome reminder of the importance of the UK–EU relationship.
Let’s build on that partnership with easier trade, more opportunities for young people and a stronger voice in our shared European future.

The Tories said this two years ago, then backed down when they realised how unpopular it was to leave children hungry at school.
I'm sure @EmmaBest22 hasn't thought this one through...

Really delighted to be with @TheCCT Churches Conservation Trust today at their annual lunch for supports and partners in the inspiring setting of @CharterhouseEC1 - and a real treat to have a tour of the historic Charterhouse beforehand.

Just leaving the terrific 101 year old ‘Hay Fever’, by Nöel Coward, at the Wyndham’s Theatre. A terrific vehicle to tell the stories of social insecurities, rampant ambitions, appalling manners, ‘them and us’, as well as for scene-stealing actors such as Christine Baranski and Richard E Grant. Terribly, terribly charming.

I know the new charges made today will be extremely concerning. My profound sympathies are with Nigel Farage and his family.
Let no one make any mistake: an attack on anyone in politics is an attack on us all.
This case raises serious questions about the security of those in public life. We must use this as an opportunity to reset. Once parliament returns, I will update on our work to strengthen protections for those who choose to serve.

When you decide to switch off and get away.
But somehow you just can’t leave politics behind 😳😂
Kilimanjaro is a tough act to follow, few things can compete with the highest mountain in Africa for my attention.
But, credit where it’s due- a speech about hope, honesty and the need for politics to give people a sense that their country has their back again has been long overdue and was worth looking away for.
We are delighted that @lisanandy has confirmed that the 25year old policy, introduced by her predecessor Chris Smith, of free access to UK residents & overseas visitors to the English National museums & galleries, will continue. Thanks to Lisa, our members & partners inc @artfund
