My Grandfather passed away peacefully this evening. I will forever be grateful for such a loving Grandfather. He became a Father at 18 yrs old to my Dad. He had 7 kids total: 6 boys & 1 daughter Ages 66 - 43 yrs. 20+ Grandchildren - Ages 44 - 10yr (of which I am the 2nd Grandchild) and I don’t even know how many great grandchildren. 30+? & counting!!!! Ages 20 - infant (My Daughters being one of the first born greats) This man is & has always been my Dad’s Hero. I love him so much, not just for his humor, kindness, family-centered, hard-working. But mostly because of his faith & he is someone my own Father loved with such respect & devotion. Pray for my Grandmother, My Father & all the rest of our large family that are grieving his passing. Rest in eternal peace. In the Savior’s Holy Presence. I love you, Grandpa. Because of you, The God of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob, The God of the New Testament is The God of Grandpa, my Father, Myself & My Children. Thank you for the legacy you have built through our family. 💕❤️‍🩹💔✝️👼🪽🙏💔❤️‍🩹💕

What I find interesting is the irony & unconscious bias against femininity in this “ranking” of biblical figures. I strongly suspect the bias is completely lost on men like him: men that are quick to put Christian women “in their place” under male authority (more or less subservient to male headship). Yet the two women he ranked as top-tier, Jael and Esther, are precisely the ones who boldly confronted men and forced the outcome the way a man would. By contrast, nearly all of his B-tier women (apart from Rahab & pre-Christ Magdalene) are the ones who embodied traditional femininity: mothers, supporters, and women who fulfilled their roles within the family and household rather than by directly challenging male power. Jael and Esther acted with real boldness & courage. They are worthy of honor. At the same time, Mary, the mother of Jesus is not lesser for living a life centered on obedience, motherhood, hidden fidelity, and prayer. Her “yes” to God at the Annunciation, her presence at the Cross, and her prayerful waiting with the Apostles are not secondary virtues; they are the pattern of the Church itself. The same can be said of Sarah, Ruth, and Hannah: their faithfulness was expressed largely through the ordinary and hidden work of family, trust, and long-suffering. Their beautiful devotion & femininity is not inferior to Jael & Esters boldness & courage. What stands out is the tendency, even among those who insist on male headship and the subordination of women, to prize female figures whose decisive actions most resemble the agency expected of men (elevating their masculine traits) while ranking lower those whose holiness is expressed through motherhood, loyalty, and quiet support (diminishing their feminine traits). We can honor both the courage of Jael & Esther AND the maternal, devoted intercessory lives of the Theotokos and the other matriarchs regardless of how they demonstrated their faith. Holiness is measured by obedience to God and union with Christ, not by which form of action most impresses a particular set of male expectations. I know this was just this particular pastors personal ranking. So I’ll say it plainly: the unconscious bias and irony of Reformed/Fundamentalist male leaders who readily pounce on Christian women for “stepping outside” male headship, yet rank the biblical women who act with courage and boldness higher than the ones who embody feminine faith was not lost on me. (Before the beta/gamma’s pounce too: Not a feminist. Monogamously married to 1 man for 20+ years. Yes, he knows I post on X.) Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.

Also, the absence of Christ on this list is hilarious. And a completely different topic in itself.

Engagement Analysis Question: What would the reason be for the difference in what our post displays as impressions/likes/bookmarks vs what the analytics say is the impressions/likes/bookmarks? Why would Premium Analytics show higher than the visible post analytics? Also, I’m not quite sure what to do with the discovery of specific Audience demographics. While I highly appreciate my male followers and am enjoying follower growth. It just surprised me some to see that 70% of my audience is male. Based on impression stats, it appears it may be by design and I show up in male feeds by 65%. I am going to sit on that a bit. Thank you to my followers. I am mostly Reply-style. But do like to add a few things here & there with some substance to it.

@grok, is there an internal delay in data capture/display? Or another reason why Premium analytics display a higher number compared to the visible post?

Such a good episode. Fr. Justin Havens offers real wisdom on marriage. The whole episode is 🔥🔥🔥, but I especially want to highlight the discussion starting around the 38-minute mark, where Buck and Fr. Havens address common misconceptions of Ephesians 5. I recently saw a spike in engagement after I reposted some mildly critical thoughts on the phrasing used by a well-known Texas Reformed pastor and political influencer toward his wife. I wasn’t rebuking the pastor directly, more or less highlighting his phrasing as off-putting and I briefly expressed gratitude for my own husband and how he embodies Ephesians 5 in our relationship. It gained traction when the gentleman commented within two minutes with a terse, one-liner rebuttal, defending his position on the grounds that “Christ commands his church.” (I found this genuinely laugh-out-loud funny.) One problem with some Reformed approaches to marriage is that men want all the headship of a fortress but offer love more like stone. Some interpret the wife’s role in Ephesians 5 as merely subservient, obedient, and “beta” to that headship. I appreciated how Fr. Havens articulated the Ephesians 5 vision of marriage. While it IS hierarchical, that leadership is earned through sacrificial love. As he put it: “I don’t know any woman, no matter how feminine she is, who wouldn’t do anything for a man whom she knew by experience would die for her.” Any demand for obedience that isn’t grounded in that kind of love isn’t leadership—it’s insecurity. Thank you again, @buckrebel for another great episode.
Premieres at 7pm CST. Father Justin Havens and I sat in my local parish and had a wonderful conversation on what marriage means within the Orthodox Church. ☦️ youtu.be/qrByjxBI1yk?is=qReh…

I had a day dream very similar to this when I was 17. I was walking in darkness. The only light was the light circled around me and lit my path as I walked. As I would get closer to each person, the light would illuminate the creature(s) tormenting that individual. I passed by a handful of people. Ones I knew, ones I didn’t and witness their demons. One person was so heavily bound & chained and lying on the cold ground that you couldn’t even see an inch of flesh. He didn’t have a personal demon either. demons would only kick him with empty disgust as they scuttled by. Like he was so bound & defeated it brought no interest or pleasure to torment him. I KNEW exactly who it was too. And my heart ached for him. After seeing another friend being tormented by 3 demons, I finally looked to see what my source of light was. It was Jesus Christ. I had asked why are you showing me this? His eyes filled with tears. I had strong sense that in His tears were the pain of sin & a cherished love. He died for the salvation of each soul there and possessed a deep love to free them. He didn’t verbally speak. But I heard “Go and sin no more.” Before snapping out of my day dream. It was a very strange vision that very well could have been an inside peek into a spiritual reality.
